Do you put tinned tomato in omelette?

I'm watching an episode of "eat well for less" and they're putting tinned tomatoes in their omelette like it's perfectly normal?

Is that a thing? I really can't see how that would taste nice but ready to hear otherwise!

I tried this once. It didn't taste too bad actually but I've never made it again.
