Hi All
Thanks for accepting me. Does anyone have any effective way of stopping our young cat from scratching the sofa and chair?
I've tried pet sprays, but they don't work. In fact if anything she's attracted to them. Please help. Thanks.

do you have a scratching post? We have a few and they help. Also lots of toys

Wrapping foil around the arms of a chair worked with one of my cats. But not the other. It might be worth a try.

I bought some big transparent sheet things on amazon, they are sticky on one side and you stick them to the furniture, saved my new bed and sofa from my 2 cats! We have now removed them and they haven't touched the furniture. If you google cat furniture protection they come up.

I stopped mine by redirecting him to a scratch post. Put it near the furniture that gets it the worst. Only took a few goes.
Cats are all different but might be worth trying

Look on etsy for some sofa / corner scratching posts. They help loads.

I have a scratching post just by the corner of the sofa that my cat scratches. Some people put double sided tape over the scratch area.

as others suggested, double sticky tape from Amazon.

and a decent scratching g post.

Cats love to scratch. It’s part of their nature!
