Recommendations for stuff to do in Newcastle

Hi I'm going to Newcastle for a weekend with a friend and the gig we were going to on Saturday has just been cancelled. Does anyone have any recommendations for fun stuff to do in Newcastle this weekend - restaurants, comedy places, club nights - not just drinking cos I think we will have that covered! Thanks

See what's on at The Stand comedy club, they're usually really good!
Other than that, Golf Fang adults crazy golf is fun. Hatchet Harry's axe throwing.
You could also Google 'the boiler shop' to see if they have any events on this weekend.
Hope you have a lovely time, the weather is meant to be good!

Head to Ouseburn. See who's playing at The Cluny, have a look at Ouseburn Farm, wander along the canal towards The Tyne Bar and have a drink sitting outside, have an ice cream at Di Meos. Go to Brinkburn Brewery for one. Eat at Kiln. Wander back along the Quayside.

My perfect sunny day.

Have a lush time!

I haven't been so not a personal recommendation but next time I go to Newcastle I desperately want to check out Khai Khai. I love Indian food, small plates and smokey flavours.

Khai Khai is definitely worth going to.

@toastofthetown ooh, I’ve been to Khai Khai - it’s amazing!
Also, Peace & Loaf for their tasting menu is incredible!

tigerbear · 24/05/2023 22:17

Dabbawal is also delicious!

oranga · 24/05/2023 22:27

Just booked Khai Khai - it looks amazing 🤩

My favourite museum is the Discovery museum.

There’s Mog on the Tyne cat cafe as well as the Biscuit Factory.

If you’re there between 16-25 June then go to the Hoppings on the Town Moor, this is the biggest funfair in Europe. Wylam Brewery is on the edge of the Town Moor too and has loads of events on, always a good trip out.

tigerbear · 25/05/2023 10:07

@oranga so jealous!!! Hope you love it.
if you’re into art, The Laing gallery has some beautiful pieces.

oranga · 29/05/2023 15:16

Thanks to all for suggestions- we went to the Wylam brewery both Friday and Saturday night and it was awesome - great suggestion! Khai Khai was also amazing - really enjoyed the food but service was a bit slow. Will be thinking about the smoked broccoli for a very long time!
