Anyone had chicken pox vaccine after exposure

Suppose to be going to a very close family members wedding in two weeks. Just found out DC were exposed on Sunday to a child with chicken pox. Really don't want to miss this wedding. Has anyone had their children vaccinated after exposure did it help/prevent?

Sorry for the late response but yes I did exactly this 2.5 weeks ago. Vaccine was 4 days after exposure and so far so good.

Another late response. My son was exposed (we didn't know). He was vaccinated a few days later. He got chicken pox. I don't think vaccination stops it in its tracks.

Not personal experience, but a basic understanding of vaccines. It won't work. A vaccine causes the body to have a reaction then remembers the virus so it fights it off earlier in the infection. Just cross your fingers and hope your Child doesn't develop it.

Thanks everyone just an update if anyone did search this question up. DS did have the vaccine and it worked to an extent. Two weeks after the vaccine he came out with a couple of spots that didn't actually scab over and didn't really bother him. Other than that nothing! The nurse said the spots could have been a reaction from the vaccine rather than the chicken pox itself.
