Restaurants near Birmingham New street

Any recommendations for lunch?

Meeting up with some work colleagues who are all travelling into New street station, and would like somewhere within easy walking distance for lunch. I know they have some chain restaurants in Grand central but would prefer personal recommendations.

I met a friend for lunch in Birmingham and we went to Home | Wildwood (wildwoodrestaurants.co.uk)

it is a chain but it was ok

Franco manca just off new street for wood fire pizzas - excellent

Birmingham is otherwise lots of chains and not much special within a 10 min walk of the station. There is a Thai at the top of new street haven't tried it but heard it's good

Also the Chinese quarter but that may be too much for lunch

The medicine bakery. Seriously gorgeous!!!

Please do Tamatanga over Dishoom. Tamatanga is a very small local chain and really is just fantastic.

How many people? Lots of great independents within a 10 min walk of grand central but most are small seating
Worth looking at the independent bham site for ideas

I love Tamatanga, think its so under rated.
