Thank you - I’m not a garden person.

What are these plants called?

My first thought was box, but then I thought, it's not very clear, could be here. But I think box.

Box.

I think they are Box ( Buxus sempervirens) which has been pruned into that shape. Its expensive and slow growing.

An alternative is Hebe.

Damn. Why so expensive? 😐

They are expensive because they are so slow-growing. They are also prone to a lot of pests and diseases which can kill them off in no time.

They sell them at Morrisons, not exactly "cheaply" but cheaper then other places.

Morrisons had them in stock at our small local store, I bought a couple this year and some last year. The small ones are around £3.50 each but aren’t really big enough to shape yet. The ones I got last year are growing well and I’ve trimmed them in to ball shapes. They had some larger ones this year that were already shaped, £8 ish. I’ve recently bought some 3 litre pot box from hedges direct, £14.99. They are good size healthy plants, got a few different things from them, also got 10% as a new customer.
