Solar Buddies - how long will they last?

Wavering on buying some of these for the DC but their FAQ indicates they’ll only last a summer at best. Was rather hoping I’d be able to wash them out and reuse them next year. Anyone with first-hand experience?

I used to wash mine out and reuse them but they were only used by my DC in school. The sponge did come off once but I glued it back on and it was fine!

Cheers. Seems silly if they can only last a few summer months but they do sound less messy.

Oh, ok, they're a refillable suncream applicator for kids! They get good reviews. I think I might need to try this.
