Help me choose our canapés?

We’re getting married in a few months and we need to start finalising the canapés. I love the sound of so many of them that it’s impossible to choose!

I need to choose 5 of these and we have some dietary requirements to be mindful of: One Nut Allergy, one dairy free and one vegetarian.

Ive added photos below of the options, if you were attending an event which of these options would you like to see or feel would be fairly versatile?

They sound lovely, and as someone with a dietary restriction I would always advise making sure there are at least two things each restricted guest group can eat as otherwise its a) a bit miserable and b) people will snaffle the only things you can eat and you end up with one canape.
So I'd do the vegan bruschetta, the pakora, mini jackets, yorkshire and pork belly skewer. 2 for the df, 3 for the veggie, everything safe for the nut allergy

Make sure the allergy people have a plate set aside for them so you know they will definitely get some

What are your main meals? It could change my answers.
E.g I would possibly choose the Yorkshire puddings but wouldn't if the main was also a roast.

You have to have the smoked salmon, so delicious also the pork belly then the other 3 veggi but only one with pastry.

some good ideas here, I’ve tried to keep the vegetarian and dairy free guest in mind and this is my current feelings:

the main meal is a huge BBQ banquet 🫣

@Neurodiversitydoctor I did wonder about a seafood option, I especially love smoked salmon! But DP’s family aren’t too adventurous on food so I feel like they’d more appreciate the beef.

I think these would have a wide appeal...

Honey glazed sausages
Chicken tikka skewers
Spanish tortilla with leek and potatoes
Black olive tapenade crostini
Vegetable pakoras with mango chutney

they give a good choice to the vegetarian & dairy free people, and something for the meat eaters. I didn't include any seafood in case it duplicated first course choices.
Sounds like fabulous food at your venue, have a wonderful day! 🥂 🍾 🥂

It's your wedding and you are paying, Jesus love have the smoked funking salmon !

WedTheBed · 21/05/2023 20:33

@AdaColeman I really loves the sound of the sausages but when we went there to try them they were pretty disappointing compared to all of the others!

I do love the sound of the black olive tepenade too though!

@WedTheBed Oh no! What a shame, as sausages are always popular on a buffet, especially if some of the guests are a bit traditional in their food choices.
Perhaps the sticky BBQ belly pork squares (though they sound messy and fatty to eat!). The roast new potatoes with chives & cream sound nice too.

Treasureboxkey · 21/05/2023 22:08

I would go for
Pakora
Either feta or goats cheese tart
Yorkshires and beef
Mozzarella skewers
Smoked salmon or crab cakes.

Trying to think about allergies and variety as well as ease of eating while juggling welcome drinks.

underneaththeash · 21/05/2023 22:15

I'd go for beef and yorkshire
Mozz and basil skewers
A tartlet
Burshetta with tomatoes and olives
Smoked salmon blini

determinedtomakethiswork · 21/05/2023 22:25

Everything sounds absolutely delicious, but I wouldn't have anything that contains nuts. My son is allergic to nuts and it makes a buffet or anything like that really really difficult. The very last thing you want is to make somebody very ill at your wedding.
