Tell me about Seaford

Exploring which town to choose to relocate too, I have always wanted to live by the sea but trying to not get too carried away as the kids need decent schools etc shoreham would be perfect but can't afford it so thinking about Seaford.

Any Seafordians/those in the know - is it full of pensioners or are there young families? Community feel? Would love to find a place where kids can play out together. local schools seem good according to Ofsted but any local knowledge would be great to hear.

Don't live too far away, but also don't know Seaford well, but my impression is that it would be a lovely place to live :) There are always people walking along the seafront, and there appears to be quite a few independent shops still. Not sure on the age groups or schools unfortunately

Thanks, anyone else? Or shall have to assume its full of pensioners who don't use the Internet 😂

It's nice. Right next to the Seven Sisters so lovely walks. Close to brighton and eastbourne.

I have many friends in Seaford and I'm 37.
In my 20's I hung out there a lot mainly because most of my friends were down there. I had a great time!
It's a pretty place and Brighton isn't too far away and you've got Eastbourne too and Lewes is close.
I say go for it! X

Seaford is great. I lived there for 20 years. There are plenty of young families there as well as retirees.
The South Downs are glorious and you can walk for miles. The views from Frog Firle are spectacular and the sea is nice too.
The buses are excellent and run all day. I always used to get the bus to Brighton as parking is £15 a day there.
There are also plentiful buses to Eastbourne and a train station to Lindon.
I loved it but had to move for a promotion in thr West Country.
I was very happy there. Avoid Newhaven.

@Gettingbysomehow totally agree with the comment about Newhaven. That made me chuckle 😂

Hi there, this post came up as I too am thinking about relocating to the south coast near Brighton. Will seeing if you made the move? :)
