Zoom schedule time - quick question

Fushia123 · 20/05/2023 22:05

I have scheduled a meeting on Zoom for my elderly mum to link up with her 90 year old sister. Have used Zoom before but not scheduled one.
The password and ID look ok, but the time says Pacific and Canada next to it.
Have tried to edit it but there is no option for GMT.
What am I doing wrong or is this ok?

You just need to figure out your local time. Pacific time looks like 8 hours behind, so it’s currently 22.16 in UK and 14.16 in PST

So if you are in the UK and want a meeting in the UK you have to schedule a meeting time to be 8 hours before you need it? I expected it to be a bit more straightforward than that.

I think there is a place in your Zoom settings (rather than the meeting settings) to choose which time zone you are in

I don’t think it really matters - the meeting will start when the host joins it (irrespective of what time it’s scheduled for) so as long as all parties know what time they are due to chat, you’re fine.

Thank you for your replies. Very helpful and kind. X

Are your relatives going to be comfortable logging on to zoom? I had/have ones who weren't, so installed them teamviewer on their devices, got them to open a connection (they have to open this and give you their session password), and I then logged them virtually on.

Zoom doesn't care about the time for a meeting. As far as I recall, it doesn't even care about the day - you'll be fine

One of them does not have internet in her house so will have to be taken to her daughter’s for the meeting. Both will have to have a family member with them to connect. Thanks for your replies.
