Extension off an extension question

Hi, I wasn't really sure where to ask this, but I'm hoping someone can help. I have very little knowledge about anything to do with electricity, it's just not one of my skill areas. I vaguely know that you're not supposed to run an extension off an extension, and I think that's got something to do with the amount of electricity or voltage going through the original extension (might be wrong there). However I'm wondering if it's ok to run a single plug extension off an extension? We've got a tower extension and I want to plug an electric keyboard into it, but the wire for the keyboard isn't long enough. So I'm thinking I could get a single plug extension with a long wire, and plug that into the tower extension, and then plug the keyboard into it. Would that be Ok do you think, or is it something dangerous? Thanks in advance to anyone that can help :)
