Want to buy a specific loft ladder, don’t know it’s name

We have a loft hatch that you pop the lid up and into the loft, then pull down a sliding ladder. You have to climb on to the banister to get to the hatch, even a step ladder doesn’t help.

I would like one of those loft hatches that you poke with a stick and the hatch gently lowers down with the ladder attached. It all seems so much simpler.

does anyone know what such a thing is called?

A slingsby lift ladder?

If you look for loft ladders you should see lots of different ones.

Sorry first message should say "loft". I appreciate it is Saturday morning and I have now written three posts about ladders!

Our ladder doesn't come down automatically, but the loft hatch is on a hinge and comes down into the landing. It has a latch thingy you stick a long pole into and turn, which unlocks it and the hatch comes down.
Don't be standing on your banister, that's a disaster waiting to happen!

Our old loft had a pole with a rubber tip on one end and a hook on the other. you could push on the hatch which would then pop open and then use the hook to get the ladder down.
You may not need a new hatch-ladder but a different catch and a pole?
