I'm visiting Canada in July to celebrate an special anniversary and will be spending time in Vancouver and Calgary. I'd really like to treat DH to a special meal out while we're there and wondered if anyone had any restaurant recommendations? I'm looking for a 'proper' restaurant rather than a bar type place and not too worried about price.

We had a gorgeous meal in Lift Bar and Grill overlooking Stanley Park across the water at sunset (ask for a rooftop table with water view) and food was lovely.

Are you heading across to the Island at all? We had some realllly special meals there but it’s not the kind of place you can just pop for the evening.
