Quick money / IBAN question - does anyone know?

I need to make a payment and have the IBAN number for the account I am transferring money to. Does anyone know if I can use this to make a local payment or do I need bank account and sort code? (Both my account & recipients are in Spain btw). Thanks 😘

I send money to my parents' Spanish bank account if I recall correctly, with the IBAN only, I didn't think they also had a sort code and account number?

I think you need the BIC as well as the IBAN. No need for the account number as it is within the IBAN.

You sometimes need the account name just to prove that the money went to the right person.

Do you have online/mobile banking with your account? It should tell you what info you need to make a payment.

Yes - if from one Spanish bank to another the IBAN should be sufficient.

IBAN alone should be fine.
