After a really stressful 18 months my daughter (adult) and I will be going on a Christmas shopping trip with her. I have no idea where to go.

I don't want to go to London (I used to go with my late mum)
Rather than chains we'd like somewhere with independent shops
Not Bath that's a day trip.
