NC could be outing.

Has anyone has experience with this act and their ex? My ex has always sent me abusive nasty messages since we split up many years ago, we have one DC. Recently I stopped contact and is he currently only having day contact until court due to his medical negligence of DC. When I stopped the contact initially he was extremely verbally abusive over texts and threatening telling me he would rain down hell on me etc. I've contacted the police as his messages wouldn't stop. I spoke to someone yesterday who said about the harmful communications act. So has anyone had any dealings with this and can let me know the process and what happened? I'm feeling very nervous and feeling like the calm before the storm as ex is going to go mad.

Are you in England/Wales? Here, any threatening messages would fall under the Malicious Communications Act. If he is bombarding you with messages it may fall under Harrassment legislation.

I'm in England and the police officer mentioned the harmful communications act. I did look it up and it said it only has to be one instance to be charged. I did initially say he was harassing me when I spoke to the police.
