To think it just tastes better from a can?

Diet coke or Pepsi max just isn't the same from the bottle! Does the can keep it fizzier or fresher??

Perfectly sciencey thank you 😊

90stalgia · 11/05/2023 12:17

A glass bottle is best, then drinking out of a glass, then a can. Main thing for me is that it should be as cold as it can be without freezing!

Tastes better from a bottle. Too fizzy from a can

Absolutely Nothing better than a can straight from the fridge
I saw in Sainsbury's there are 24 cans on offer for £7.50 so guess where I'm heading later
A can is a daily treat here

Whatamigoingtodopleasehelp · 11/05/2023 12:39

That’s top tier sciency thank you 😊

ReformedWaywardTeen · 11/05/2023 12:41

Because there are 3 different types of coke: from a can, from a bottle and from McDonalds.

Whatamigoingtodopleasehelp · 11/05/2023 12:41

Another coke related question- is it true that McDonald’s coke has a different recipe and the straws are particularly designed to make it taste better? I mean the width of them.

Shufflebumnessie · 11/05/2023 12:46

100% correct! I don't like Pepsi, but Coca Cola (Classic in the red can) tastes so much better from either a glass bottle or a can (regular, slim or mini).

It's probably made from a syrup as in pubs. If you've ever seen a pub dispense a coke, it's from a red machine on the counter. It's a syrup mix.

coxesorangepippin · 11/05/2023 14:25

Completely agree

Fizzy water tastes better from a can too

planthelpadvice · 11/05/2023 14:27

Completely agree. The move to plastic bottles is terrible IMO - not just for environmental reasons.

friedgoldeggs · 11/05/2023 14:31

I absolutely love the full fat Pepsi or coke from pubs, with lots of ice and lime. It tastes so rich and syrupy.

Then I agree with other PPs - glass bottles 2nd, cans 3rd and bottles last - they seem to lose their fizz faster in the bottles and always feel a bit too fizzy.

I've also never thought about it in such detail before Grin I'm now craving a coke...

CharlottenBerg · 11/05/2023 14:44

I find all cola disgusting, whether from a bottle or can, but I find beer from a bottle much nicer than the same brand from a can.

MrsCarson · 11/05/2023 14:55

Glass bottle is way better.

SirenSays · 11/05/2023 15:17

A plastic bottle of coke loses its fizz so fast that it's not worth buying now. Glass bottles or cans all the way.

Don't worry too much - rats climb all over the trolleys at the supermarket, the pallettes food is delivered on, the warehouse it's stored in and just about everywhere from the field in which the ingredients are sourced until it gets on to the shop floor or your home. They're ubiquitous in life, especially where food is kept/ grown/ stored and produced!

But you don't wrap your lips around a trolley.
I often refused delivery of goods because the smell of rodent piss on them was overwhelming.

This

Luredbyapomegranate · 11/05/2023 18:34

Yup cans are fizzier

full coke disgusting from bottle because the sugar punches through too much when it’s flatter.

Riapia · 11/05/2023 19:25

Coke from a glass bottle, through a straw. 👍
