Tell me what I have forgotten to do or buy for my wedding?

Just over three weeks to go and starting to think about the stuff I have forgotten to do!

I have ordered this week:

Seating charts
Menus
Stuff for the tables I probably don't need

I have confirmed:
Food
Band
Bar
Suits
Flowers

For reference-medium sized wedding in s hall I have to decorate myself.

Knife for cutting the cake.

We also had a small speaker and ipad set up to play background music classical/ jazz/ easy listening etc as a bit of atmosphere when we had food. Presuming your band is booked for later on.
And if getting married at venue, we sorted our own walking in music.

And safety pins are always useful.

Have you created a playlist for times the band isn’t playing?

Have you worn your wedding shoes in?

Transport to/ from/ between venues for bridesmaids (if not sharing car with you or have a bridesmaid car between venues)?

I notice you are not having a hotel reception. We also didn't have a hotel. One thing we did for our guests (we had lots of non drivers and as we didn't go for a hotel and our wedding was at a golf course in the sticks) is put on busses between venues and back to the bnbs at night. The place we got married only had a choice of 3 bnbs local to it and the church so all our guests stayed in one of these. We approached a bus company who were willing to do the runs for a reasonable price.

You don't have to go that far but it might be worth checking all your bridesmaids have transportation between venues.

Checked with the registrar that it's all good to go?

Workbabysleeprepeat · 10/05/2023 09:44

Large umbrellas for bridal party in case of rain?

CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair · 10/05/2023 12:22

Downloaded music for your ceremony? We had to have it on a USB stick and have proof of purchase, plus have sent in our readings in advance.

NoEffingWay · 10/05/2023 14:54

Registrar all checked
Music all sorted-the band are doing the disco and all of the music for the day
Photographer all ready to go

Emergency sewing kit.
Are you getting your makeup done in which case get a copy of the lipstick so you can touch up yourself during the day.

Hairpins
Deodorant
A little bag for your phone etc for after the ceremony
Your overnight bag and honeymoon bag if you're going straight
Photo wranglers appointed on each side of the family to gather everyone up for the photographer
Comfy shoes to dance in later on
A nice perfume to remind you of the day.
What you're going to wear that morning while getting ready and getting photos taken.

turnthetoiletpaperroundproperly · 10/05/2023 15:55

Ice for the drinks
Binliners for the trash
matches for candle decorations
Basket of slippers for guests (I know this is barmy but its much appreciated my son had 2 wooden crates of plain slip ons for the guests in various sizes)
A garter..in blue?! Spare stockings or tights?

sorry, should have read the full thread! Have a fantastic day.

Have a list of people/group shot photos you really want taken to ensure they don’t get missed. My photographer had an assistant with him to go down the list but you could assign the job to a trusted friend.
Enjoy your day, it goes by so quickly.

Topbird29 · 03/06/2023 21:09
