People are young now don't want the monarchy, but those same people may change their mind as they grow older. I'm sure when I was 16-24 I didn't want a monarch either, it's only as I've grown into an adult I've realised how important it is for the British collective identity to have the monarch as the head of state, and how much that means for many people.
