I am British bit have lived abroad for 15 years.

I miss the British sense of humour. When I make jokes in my country of residence people look at me like I have two heads.

I miss the choice in the supermarkets. Different flavours of the same product, different products at Easter/ Christmas and not just exactly the same as last year and each and every year before that.

I miss the rich history of the country, and the traditions that I hope are being upheld (Guy Fawkes night was always my favourite).

I am feeling really homesick tonight. Indulge me.

The weather - adore it, winter is my favourite.

I'm on a walking weekend in Dorset at the moment - it is STUNNING. The countryside and sea we have are so beautiful. I've travelled a bit but never found any country that compares to it.

Decent cup of tea.

Pragmatism.

I would never live anywhere else, I love it.

Castles
beaches
mountains
countryside
weather
relics of the industrial like quarries
churches
roast dinners
lobscouse
rice pudding
country pubs

so much to add!

Might be worth pointing out to the people complaining about lack of tolerance that it cuts both ways. A tolerant society accepts that some people read newspapers you don't like and can express views different to your own, as loudly as they like.

I've travelled extensively. And without a doubt the UK is one of the most tolerant places in the world. And I love that about the UK.

Very true. I think the UK has become very intolerant in recent years and it is sad to see.

I think the whole of Western civilisation is suffering from the damaging authoritarian intolerance from progressive left. This is not just a problem for the UK. But it is a problem that needs dealing with.

Scottish here, but lived abroad extensively.

I like:

The weather - alright, it's rarely ever hot and sunny, but there are definite variations and you can see and feel the seasons changing in ways that are less obvious in other countries (when I lived in Singapore, it was inevitably either humid or raining).

The relative lack of bureaucracy - some elements are maddening (I'm looking at you, HRMC) but you haven't lived until you've tried to get a library card as a non-French citizen living in Paris.

The tolerance of individual eccentricities.

Queuing.

Random history in odd little corners.

Accents and dialects.

London - even to me as a Scot (!), London is, IMO, one of the greatest cities in the world.

The incredible variety of landscapes in a relatively small space, geographically speaking.
