Ha ha. Another West Wing fan here - I started to follow him on Instagram during lockdown though and he had some videos of him playing amazing music on there at the time.

But mostly just know him from the West Wing. (Heathens indeed)

actually, OP, maybe Song Without Words but I have sentimental associations there.

I like most of the pieces on Songs of Comfort and Hope, but particularly Solveig’s Song.

Yes I know him but I listen to a lot of classical music. His Silk Road ensemble album is lovely although he’s probably most famous for his recordings of solo Bach. If you are new to him I recommend Songs of Comfort and Hope by Kathryn Stott. It truly is a comforting album.

If this has inspired you to listen to cello music then I also recommend Kian Soltani and Pablo Ferrandez, two young cellists. I am a big fan of the Persian influenced music Soltani plays. And there is a little clip on YouTube of the two of them playing Paganini’s 24th caprice (written for the violin) which is great!
