Just drive a different way home, past a car wash and remembered how I refuse to use it on principle 😂
Years ago, I was in a hurry and no one in front - as I drove in, and was being 'washed' by one of the chaps, the one in charge allowed someone to jump the queue as they were 'in a hurry' and 'just wanted a spritz' - nope, they reversed all the way back, had everything, and I sat fuming at the the queue jumpy enablement.
Refuse to go back, I'm sure they are disappointed 😂

Macmillan for me too. My DM was coming to the end of her cancer battle and was very very unwell and very very scared.

Within one minute of arriving, the Macmillan nurse barked 'we have to sort your DNR out first'.

Bedside manner my arse. I will never give a penny to their chuggers. Those few words and the manner in which they were delivered destroyed my mum.

My brother and I got bikes for Christmas back when we were around 9/10 years old. We also got money and wanted to open a bank account. So we rode our lovely new bikes into town and took them into the local branch of Barclays (we had no bike locks) we were told by the staff we couldn’t bring our new bikes in Barclays - so I popped up that we will not be opening an account with them thank you very much! Rode off to Lloyds who let us take the bikes into the branch and lucky them - they got our £10 opening bank account. 😉

My daughter was poorly for a while, had a tumor removed, still attends oncology clinic. Prior to that she did competitive sport. One dad went out of his way to bully my daughter. He got other parents on side, as he held sway, and ensured she was not included in anything they did. She spent many night’s crying over his actions. Bizarrely he runs a children’s activity centre. I will always hold a grudge against that man.

@Dacadactyl

Reminds of me ‘Beef’ on Netflix. 🤣

I still hold a grudge against the woman who made a fraudulent claim when I slightly clipped the wheel arch of her car, as I pulled in to kerb, at about 5mph. (Outside a school, can any car travel faster than 5mph outside a school in the morning?) There was hardly any damage. I didn’t even bother to get the ‘scuff’ on my car repaired. We looked at each others’ car, had an 10 min chat and I gave my details (as I was to blame and happy for my insurance to repair her scuff). Next I hear (head of school was a friend), she’d gone into school after our chat, screaming hysterically and ‘collapsed’. An ambulance was even called. She then claimed whiplash for herself and 4 passengers. (There were only 2 children in car. A third was stood next to car, as witnessed by my dc.)
Few weeks later my insurance asked for photos as felt it was fraudulent claim. ‘Haven’t bothered to have scuff repaired, come and see!’ Engineer agreed that it was definitely fraudulent claim but insurance company decided to pay up rather than go to court. I was furious particularly when I heard that she got £2k each for her and 4 passengers and even more so when I was told that this was 3rd time she’d done it and bragged each time that money would pay for another holiday.
Get really annoyed when current TV programme goes on about how insurance company’s always prosecute fraudulent claims. No, they don’t.
It was over 10 yrs ago and still pisses me off.

I had an acquaintance have a similar minor bump near a school - the car door was actually opened out onto the side of her car, but it was just a ding and she didn't see what had happened and drove off. The woman who was 'injured' with whiplash - trying to make a £8k claim - came into school on the last day of term a month later, and despite her child being capable of carrying bags, and the DH was there too, felt the need to carry all the bags on her freely moving shoulders. PE kit, school rucksack, the plastic bag full of exercise books, as well as her own handbag.

This woman and I had issues in the past with our children falling out, and while I always left things for the school to sort out, she'd made it personal. I followed them out of school, filming them on my phone as we left the gates all the way to their car, and sent the video to the insurance company. I said I was willing to testify if it came to it.

She still got a payout, but I cost her £6k. She doesn't know it was me.

Terry Keaton... 1969 - my hatred is still going strong!

3luckystars · 19/04/2023 20:35

I got points on my licence for turning right at a junction, and there was a guard there (I could see him when I was turning) and he pulled me over and said you are not allowed turn right there. I said there is no sign saying that, and he said ‘there are loads of signs’. There wasn’t!

I went back and took photos and wrote 3 emails to the Authority attaching the photos, they said I would have to get in touch with the guard and dispute it with him. It was February 2020 and COVID just kicked off so I couldn’t get access to the police station, so I paid the fine and took the points because I had done everything I could and didn’t want to end up in court.

I got the letter today saying they are officially gone off my licence now as 3 years have passed and I’m still RAGING over it all.

I should have gone to court and stood up to him.

I hold so many grudges....

One that sticks in my mind is many years ago when I was 17 I got my first proper job working in quite a large office in a neighbouring town so totally didn't fit in as I was young and trendy and shock of all shocks, from one town over. Honestly you would think I was from Mars they were such in inbred clique bunch of wankers......

I started quite close to the Xmas period and on the last day before the holidays the boss had arrived early and left 2 cases of wine in the main office for a lunchtime treat.

At the time I was still in training so sitting in another room with the boss and another newbie. I needed to go and get a file and the boss asked me to grab them a glass of wine on my way back from the filing cupboard. When I went in to the main office to pour a glass for the boss, all the middle aged stuck up cows surrounded me and were literally shouting in my face as apparently the wine belonged to them and it wasn't for sharing. Clearly they had had a good few drinks by that point.

I arrived back at my desk and explained to the boss that he wasn't allowed any wine as it wasn't for sharing and he best not even try asking as he'll just end up getting shouted like I did. I was young and was a bit upset at the way they had all ganged up on me to be honest.

Anyway, Boss went quiet for a minute and disappeared into the other office and went totally mental at them all, confiscated all the remaining wine, made them all apologise to me individually and gave me a £200 cash xmas bonus from the pettycash box. He had younger daughters and I think he felt really sorry for me being treated like that by the older women in the office.

I didn't stay there long enough to find out what happened the following Xmas though but did come across some of the horrible staff from time to time when out socially and gave them the death stare...

I am very sorry but I cannot read 645 posts! But I do need to post. I do not normally hold grudges. Just not me. However in 1999 - yes 1999 - I was working in Canary Wharf. I bought in the sale from Jaeger the most beautiful green silk trouser suit. I say suit - CW had the jacket, but not the correct size trousers. I paid for both on the understanding that CW would order in from another store the correct size. I didnt hear for a few days and called to enquire. The manager took the call - said she would look to see what was going on and let me know. So I was on hold. Only I wasn't - I could hear all of the background conversation. Yes - not good - very not good - I was slagged off in very bad language (for 1999 - probably not even OK now). I put the phone on loudspeaker and waited. 20 mins later the manager returned and hung up. I had luckily read an interview with the Sales Director in the papers the week before, so I wrote an angry (but polite) letter. I stated what had happened, what my expectations were regarding the missing trousers, and that I would never shop with them again until I knew they had sacked that individual. I received a call - there were problems with that individual and my complaint had added to an already existing process. I re-iterated that again I would not shop there until I knew that person had been sacked. I received the trousers from another store (sadly now closed) but I never heard any more, and I have never shopped there again. My trouser suit is beautiful - I love it to bits even now. Thankfully I have never encountered this level of service before or since. Sometimes yes poor but we can all have off-days. This was a level beyond unreasonable.

Seahorsemama · 19/04/2023 20:40

I love that - cat wankers 🤣🤣

SnacksRLife · 19/04/2023 20:43

A local lady who cycled into the path of my sister’s car as she turned a corner, no lights on her bike, in winter evening darkness, in pouring rain with her hood and rain hood up, no awareness at all. She immediately apologised to my sister, said it was her own fault. Sister still called police and ambulance, as she wanted to make sure and the lady was of a certain age where that kind of accident could severely injure. Police said all good, ambulance said all good. A month later we get a 20 page insurance document from sister’s insurance that says Avon lady is claiming for whip lash injuries, sister apparently ‘leaving the scene of an accident’, ‘not calling the police’ and a lot
more crap. Needless to say, the letter from the police that was sent back to the insurer put the Kibosh on it, but I still hate her with a passion for trying to get one over on a young woman who couldn’t have done more for her at the time.

NevillesLeftNadger · 19/04/2023 20:47

A horrible, narcissistic, psychopathic liar of a psychiatric nurse called Cate. Told vile lies about everybody, was just full of spite and malice, and believed the sun shone out of her smug Cockney arse.

drsp51 · 19/04/2023 20:52

I was given the first in a series of books by the wife of my boss at the time, as she enjoyed them so much. I did too and carried on collecting them all. Lent the first one to a secretary at work, she returned it over a year later and it was so dogeared and battered that I could have cried! I used to buy a lot of jewellery off her that she made but wouldn’t after that. I know that the book could be replaced to complete the series again but it wouldn’t be the same as the lady who gifted it to me died soon after

IfIGoThereWillBeTrouble · 19/04/2023 20:56

@mainsfed She tried to get the teacher to call it the hersurname-mysurname project (eg the Smith-Jones project) but the teacher said it could be the Jones-Smith project. There was no Smith, it was the Jones project.
I haven’t seen her since the late eighties and she lives on the other side of the world now, but every single time a post from her pops up on FB, I still think about it…..thirty something years later. Not that I’m petty or unforgiving!

Mimosa08 · 19/04/2023 20:58

My late aunt hated a local woman because her daughter won a bonny baby competition where I placed 2nd 🤣🤣
I was NOT a bonny baby...I looked like a deflated scrotum

RobertaFirmino · 19/04/2023 21:00

A footballer called Lawrie Sanchez who scored the winning goal for Wimbledon in the 1988 FA Cup final. We woz ROBBED!

I sent a letter to Timmy Mallett asking if I could go on Mallet's mallet, and he never replied. Ive never forgiven him for ignoring me.

When I came to the UK 15+ years ago, this bank refused to open a bank account for me. I went to a smaller bank who did, they still have my custom and many years later I still refuse to open an account with the bank that denied me regardless of what is being offered.

Pertinentowl · 19/04/2023 21:15

Any business that I perceive as mistreating their staff. As you can imagine it’s quite a list. For chains I spend ages writing emails that never fix anything and if it’s a small business owner I’ll just tell them to their face that’s why I’m not coming back.

WhyyArePeopleLikeThis · 19/04/2023 21:15

During the pandemic I had 0 fuel left in my car. Fuel shortage happened so I couldn’t find anywhere. My friend text to say ‘hey, Tesco has fuel’ so I got my steps in and walked up (20 min walk and I’m unfit) I went into store to buy the can, went to fill the can then went back in store to pay for the fuel. I went home and got my car so I could fuel up properly for work. Third time I went in to pay for the cars fuel the checkout lady shouted at me for being part of the reason no one could get fuel. Ma’am including the can I only took £20 of petrol. Never went back to the fuel station

I saw a former colleague in the distance and my blood ran cold.

Also Nick Knowles - why you ask? I genuinely can't remember but it was something bad. It must have been something bad but I just can't remember what it was! Still grumble when DP puts his shows on TV.

(I'm sure he's lovely, this is totally a me thing !)

@twanmever surely that's only if you want to buy medicibe/tablets. If it's shampoo or tubigrip it's fine. Isnt it?

I'd have thought so. Superdrug manage to do it.

TheGander · 19/04/2023 21:19

The chuggers who relentlessly targeted my late father when he had dementia. He lost the ability to say no and gave a little to all of them. The number of begging letters increased exponentially as they sold his details on to other “ charities “. It’s made me very cynical about the whole industry
