Just drive a different way home, past a car wash and remembered how I refuse to use it on principle 😂
Years ago, I was in a hurry and no one in front - as I drove in, and was being 'washed' by one of the chaps, the one in charge allowed someone to jump the queue as they were 'in a hurry' and 'just wanted a spritz' - nope, they reversed all the way back, had everything, and I sat fuming at the the queue jumpy enablement.
Refuse to go back, I'm sure they are disappointed 😂

I had a colleague who, upon overhearing my conversation with another colleague about our cats, loudly said ‘I hate cats’. For once, I had a good retort with ‘I hate people who hate cats.’ He was stunned and later apologized. But I still dislike him and hold a grudge. 😁

I am so stealing that line!

It’s never enough for them to say they don’t like cats. No, they have to trot out stories of horrible things being done to cats. Makes me think “Don’t leave this person alone with helpless animals or children.”

Flick a v sign whenever I pass the village of friend from 43 years ago. Her mum was Brown Owl and booted me out of the Brownies purely because I couldn’t stop biting my nails. “Brownies have to be feminine Katie”. RIP Valerie Bywater

The people whose dog attacked mine and left him needing 5 weeks of vet treatment at a cost of nearly £500. Owners refused to even acknowledge it let alone say sorry or pay our vets bill. Luckily for me Hmm the dog bit me as well albeit minorly on my hand, and the Police initially didn't want to know but thankfully another villager came forward whose dog had also been attacked and the owners refused to acknowledge. I pushed them for months and eventually it went to court and they were given a magistrate order to have it muzzled and on a lead at all times in public. Unfortunately we live in the same village still and I saw her yesterday... dog on lead but no muzzle. I've reported them 4 times now with photographic evidence but nothing ever happens. I'm ashamed to say that I've seriously considered a poisoned bone dropped over their fence one night 😤

@Bluebells1970 I sincerely hope you don’t do that. I can understand you’re upset about your own dog, but poisoning the other dog is disgusting. It’s the owners fault if they aren’t muzzling the dog.

My chemistry teacher- asked a group of us what A levels we wanted to do and when I chipped in, said "oh no, Harriet - you'll still be doing your resits."

The fact I went to Oxbridge and he got sacked a couple of years ago for watching school girl porn AT SCHOOL ON A SCHOOL LAPTOP gives me no pleasure at all 😆😆😆

Ps I'm nearer 50 than 40 😆🙈

We MUST of gone to the same school! In a town starting with P?! If not then there is more than one creepy chemistry teacher floating around which is crazy!!

Exaspa · 19/04/2023 03:03

Far too many to mention. I turn them into character sketches. One day I will meld all their personal characteristics together and turn them into characters in cosy crime nogels

Exaspa · 19/04/2023 03:05

Too many to mention. One day I will put all their characteristics into a literary cauldron and turn them into cosy crime novel characters so I can finally ensure they get their come uppance...

I still hold a grudge over Donna Holden from Army Cadets and I hope you’re bloody well ready this you thieving cow. We went away to camp and she took a liking to my brand new trainers and asked to borrow them. I was shy back then and said yes but she never took them off the whole week. She said she’d bring them to our detachment then next week and as she always came to our meetings I trusted her. Guess what, she NEVER came again and I never saw my trainers again. This was 26 years ago and I’m still annoyed.

What was more upsetting was I had to wear my old scabby trainers with black laces I found around the house as my mum couldn’t afford to replace them. I looked like a tramp.

Name changed for this.

lightinthebox · 19/04/2023 08:33

Main grudge is someone who I thought was a friend, but when I struggled to breastfeed and used formula continued to send pro BF articles to me, even when I said I had PND about not BFing.

This was all done by PMs and I never told any of our mutual friends, so no one else knows how awful this person is, that's a grudge I'll always have.

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/04/2023 08:38

I recently learned to drive and have an underground carpark. My space is between a sports car and a pillar and I have to reverse park in. Opposite there is a massive Audi and he overhangs his bonnet over the end of his space.

Because of him I have to drive round the car park to reverse in the other way. Every time I see him I say ' oh big wanker is here'.

If you don't speak to her, why is she still a contact on the family's phones?! 😀

Because she’s a family member and we don’t ever want to get caught unawares if she ever does phone any of us - can let it go to voicemail.

Oh the bus drivers used to do this when I got the bus to school! If you pressed the button half a second too early or late for their liking they'd ignore you and make you wait for the next stop or sometimes the one after. I think they just hated school kids.

A bus driver did this to me, I had bad morning sickness and knew I had seconds to get off that bus. He wouldn't listen and then I saw his face change when the penny dropped. He pulled in, it wasn't at a stop by this point, but he was just too late as I threw up on the step as I left the bus. I do hope he had to clean it up.

I'm 75, when I was about 8 we were on holiday and I bought my 'little' brother, 72, an Orange Maid lolly, he's never returned the gesture, as I never stop reminding him!
The female memory has real longevity, when I was still teaching girls would hold a grudge from Year 7 to Year 11, boys tended to shrug and forget. As I'm old I make no apologies for the stereo-typing, one of the advantages of old age is being able to not give a damn!

Uh huh.

Two of my friends fell out when we were 11 years old over a 5ive poster.
They haven't spoken since even though we're all 37, and their daughters are really close friends.

SillyLavish · 19/04/2023 09:56

All the psychiatric staff who made things far worse when I asked for help. (Not the occasional nice ones.) Yet the one I loathe the most isn't anywhere near the worst!
I'd been homeless and just moved into a flat. I didn't have anything but luckily had just received a large benefits backpayment so had plenty of money to buy everything I needed.
Stupid cow insisted I apply for some kind of grant for new things anyway, despite me saying I didn't need it. I even asked if it was a limited fund, explaining I didn't want to take anything if it meant people who really needed it would miss out. But she insisted, and asked for a list of items I might want.
I had a shopping list for the flat - as well as essential items there were things like photo frames and lamps, things to make my home nice. I started to jot down a new list from this, with only the essentials on. She said don't bother, we'll just look at the original list. Again, she insisted.
Bitch then showed my shopping list to her companion, pointing out and smirking at something on it, and said to me "They won't fund these things, it's meant for essentials" and treated me like I was greedy and stupid.
I was too cowed to say anything (in those days!!) which I regret forever.

Growing up we didn't have much money, but my mum had bought me (aged 13) a much coveted pair of boots. They weren't made of leather and unfortunately they had been left too near the fire one evening so had melted a bit on the side, but I loved them anyway and they were still wearable. I had gone to my friend's birthday party with some other girls from school, my friend's mum noticed the melted bit on my boots and asked me what had happened to them. I explained that they had melted because they were left too close to the fire, to which she sneerily remarked "oh, so they're not leather then". I'm nearly 65 now and that nasty comment still annoys me, I hope she enjoyed her Superiority Moment over a young teenager.

Bastard

Tidsleytiddy · 19/04/2023 10:07

My workplace refused to acknowledge covid was happening. Bunch of cunts. I loathe them still

Helendegenerate · 19/04/2023 10:21

Still working my way through the hundreds of posts on this one and will get there but a mini post here on bullies. No school bully experiences. No I had to join the world of work for that one. I can't go into detail in case of outing but enough to say when I gave as good as I received and did it in a quiet calm and light-hearted way (office environment) I was sacked that same day. Yes she had a very slightly more senior role to me. The bitch had form for her bullying which I discovered later.

Imsomeoneelse · 19/04/2023 10:21

I had a boss who took a dislike to me. When my coworker’s relative died they were given time off, showered with condolences from colleagues, cards and offers of help. When my dad died, when I got back to work nobody said a word of condolence. There were some weird looks and comments about me being away from work. Boss hadn’t told people that my dad died. It was definitely not an oversight, it was part of a pattern. It was hurtful that after CW had been given so much kindness (including from me), when the same thing happened to me I was treated so coldly.

postwarbulge · 19/04/2023 10:45

@Soproudoflionesses.

I wanted to buy some Evostick to repair the corner of a kitchen work surface where the Formica had loosened. I was refused when I could not produce an acceptable photo ID: my pensioners' bus pass was not good enough. I was 69 at the time. 🙄

A dog that has repeatedly attacked other dogs and bitten at least one human should be humanely PTS.

Turfwars · 19/04/2023 14:22

Next door neighbour-but-one. I hope you both die roaring for what you did to MIL. Everyone knew she was dying. I did laugh when she swore to come back and haunt you. I hope she is doing exactly that.

I throw the occasional oxo cube into your garden in fond memory of her.

LakeTiticaca · 19/04/2023 15:49

Me aged about 9 or 10. (Late 60s/early 70s) in the Girls Brigade. We did a sponsored swim to raise funds at a local medium sized swimming baths. Swimming widths. I managed to rack up 150 widths, also another girl also managed 150.
At the next church service we were required to attend, they made mention of the money we had raised, with special thanks and a small plastic trophy to the girl who had swam the most widths , My name was not mentioned, just the other girl who got the plastic trophy and also happened to be the daughter of the Girls brigade captain 😡 50+ years and I'm still pissed off about it 🤣
