Passport Renewal Waiting Times

Anyone renewed their passport recently?? How long did it take? They recieved my old passport a week ago.. nothing has been updated since on the online tracker..I know it says allow upto 10 weeks but my son's 1st passport last year took 8 weeks. (They lost his application photo though) this is just my renewal hoping to go away in 7 weeks can only apply for fast track when it's been 6 weeks 🙈 unsure what to do as the longer we wait to book the holiday the price will shoot up as its half term.

Lucikly we do have a good amount of time before we go away.

Friend got theirs back today. 10 days to renew a long expired one

I renewed mine a couple of weeks ago online. Six working days to come back (didn’t do fast track).
I speeded things along from my end by having my photo taken at a shop where you get a code to upload it direct to the website, and by sending off my old passport with next day delivery. Still pretty impressive.

Also just done one by post, only took about 10 days

My ds's was received on the 21st of March, it hasn't even be scanned onto the system yet.
We fly in four weeks.
My dd's sent at the same time, revived back in three weeks

I cannot figure out how they process things.
Mine took 3 weeks which I was pleased with tbh during the strikes but there were people with the same office and same straight forward renewal type as me who had theirs done in less than 6 days and people who applied far before me who are still waiting like you. It feels like a lottery.
