A horse and a field and stable to keep it in.

knackeredcat · 11/04/2023 08:56

· YY to pony, stable and all the gear
· A Sindy house with all the furniture, Range Rover, horse and horse box. (I had all of these once)
· In fact all of my old toys - My Little Ponies, Care Bears, etc. I have some reissued "old skool" ones. A bit harder to get a near-mint Rainbow Brite!

Never got the following toys so would probably want them -
· Tomy Lights Alive

· Big Yellow Teapot
· Family Tree House
· Major Morgan the Electronic Organ
· Omnibot
· Mr Frosty (although many people who bought it as adults felt it didn't live up to the hype)

· A big US car - someone who lived near us had one of these which was hugely exotic in South Belfast! I used to pass it on the way to school and marvel at it in a sea of Fiestas - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Impala_%28fifth_generation%29 (I still can't drive)
· The life of Judith Chalmers, getting paid to travel 😀
· Much of the clothes/styling/makeup on my favourite singers and actresses in the 80s rather than the junior C&A versions
· RM Nimbus computer - when we got these in school it was a revelation. My mobile phone likely has more power and memory in it 😄
· Various things from Tomorrow's World, especially synths and sequencers where you could programme your voice (or an animal's) into it and it come out comically robotic 😄
· An actual house somewhere glamorous and exotic (twelfth of never...)

A library full of books. With a moving ladder and big comfy chairs.
Mr Frosty
A new bike, not the falling apart one I had
clothes I choose, not just second hand donations
A pair of shoes that were not school shoes

beachcitygirl · 11/04/2023 12:45

CoinsinaJar · 11/04/2023 12:46

Ponies, horses, a few more ponies and a lovely stable yard to put them all in.

Encyclopaedia Britannica (children’s version)

one of those toy machines where you put 2p in and get a mini dairy milk

We are kindred spirits! 😀

AllAboutMargot · 11/04/2023 12:57

Loads and loads of dogs
A bedroom ceiling decorated in purple and white checkerboard polystyrene tiles
New shoes so I could throw out the ones I have to repair with sellotape to keep them together
A swimming pool for my mam
A camper van for my dad

SnoozingGiraffe · 11/04/2023 13:04

I'd have 'children' called Rocky and Sapphire. One of those baby Annabels and all the gear to go with it including a proper travel system toy pram. I'd be allowed to play the trombone like I wanted (random!). I'd attend ballet school and have all the outfits.

determinedtomakethiswork · 11/04/2023 13:05

Boarding school, a trunk and a tuck box.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 11/04/2023 13:10

My own pony, short riding boots instead of long ones and navy jodhpurs instead of cream one.
Kickers shoes.
A Land Rover that could tow my horse box.

lovelypidgeon · 11/04/2023 13:17

If £1m was enough for it now I'd buy my friend Sharon's house from the 1980s. It was a large 3 storey terrace with the children's bedrooms at the top. Every room was furnished and decorated in a way that I considered incredibly sophisticated and fashionable- a different brightly coloured theme in each room including glossy coloured furniture and impractically pale carpets. Even the garden was covered over in coloured pavers. If it was on Right Move now it would almost certainly feature in its own MN thread but I thought it was amazing and the younger me was determined that my house would be just like it when I was an adult.

On my behalf, you are very welcome! If you like ponies, you can share the stables where I keep my palomino and hunting cheetahs. Of course the cheetahs only do drag hunting. I will give you the clue to the maze so you can find your way in.

OccasionalHope · 11/04/2023 13:22

Lucky me, lots of books.

A private swimming pool.

More books.

A dolls house.

And more books.

Jayneisagirlsname · 11/04/2023 13:33

A house with a turret like Anastasia Krupnik to fill with books. Also my own Gilbert Blythe.

Changeau · 11/04/2023 13:35

Horses and a place to keep them.

MargaretThursday · 11/04/2023 13:39

The biggest dolls house and furniture
a tree house

Thecat19342 · 11/04/2023 13:40

I'd have the cottage from matilda (the film) and live there with my dalmatian, also have dyed long red hair like ariel, and frolic around in beautiful floor length gowns whilst polishing my collection of royal doulton ladies.

Id own a proper doll house with lights too.😆

Goodfuckingriddance · 11/04/2023 13:43

@Neverknowinglysensible @beachcitygirl hey roomies!! The more the merrier! I hope you’re bringing your roll-on body glitter and electric crimpers because the PARTAY is on. Oh, and your roller boots. I have some ice magic, and we can make cream soda ice cream floats!

To be honest, the spaniels can go (10 year old me would be aghast, but now me is not a dog person, sadly). I LOVE the library ladder with wheels — how else would I get to all my Chalet School books? — the only stable, and the intercom. But I must insist that there be enough room to bring all my little round side tables swagged with taffeta fabric and bows, and my china lamp in the shape of a toadstool. 👍

I once went to a wealthy person's house once as a kid, and I remember loving her extensive wardrobe and hge house. when I was a kid I wanted to go to Hawaii, as an adult i'd never pay for that but if I was given a million with hese particular constraints then I would!
