Have to psych myself up to wash my hair!

Anyone else have to psych themselves up to wash their hair. It is my number one most hated job. I'd rather put away laundry for 3 hours a day than wash my hair.
I'm far too reliant on dry shampoo. My hair doesn't really get greasy but from day 5 onwards I use it to freshen up and then my hair looks dull and waxy.
How do people convince themselves to wash their hair? Mine is so long and thick and frizzy that it takes forever to dry and straighten. Plus I shower at night so by 9pm I really can't be arsed with the whole rigmarole.
I start work at 6.30am so not a chance I'm doing the hair routine at 5.30am on a week day!
I just need to force myself to do it don't I?

I wash mine almost every day, never go more than 48 hours. I’d get it cut if it was that much hassle to wash it that I wasn’t doing it.

Day 5 onwards...🤮 that is revolting! Christ alive just wash your hair in the shower in the morning. You must stink, unwashed hair smells vile.

Yes it's my most hated job! Mine isn't straight or curly but an annoying frizzy wavy inhetween so I have to dry and straighten it. I can get away with it for about 5-6 days but I have to wash it on day 7. If i didnt need to style it I'd love washing my hair as i could spend hours in the shower.

Not that I regularly leave it 5-6 days! But I do have chronic health problems which make it hard so I have left it that long in the past.

i have past shoulders long hair.hundreds of it-its really fine but theres millions of it.brush\wash has become a chore.or a forced into situation...last haircut i got 2\3rds of it shaved off. actually.you cant tell-all the length is still there-theres till millions of it but i lost about two stone(hahahah i wish)its way easier to mange.feels cleaner just be loss of weight/but also less reluctant to wash. unless av got it knot tied high ya real wouldnt know

It always happens on here that people say "unwashed hair stinks" and then say oh well I didn't mean Afro hair
Same with showering, people say washing in a sink is disgusting and then oh well I didn't mean disabled people

Shouldn't have to state your hair type to avoid people saying it's vile

I’m the same OP. I had keratin treatments for a while which worked wonders and might do it again when I’m not TTC.

@Maple2023 you are reaching there my dear. We could take any thread like that couldn't we, "am I unreasonable to cut my grass once a week?" Why ask that when people live in flats and don't have a lawn.
"Am I unreasonable to only shower once a fortnight?" How dare you waste water like that, I have a family of 203 and we share the sink water after we've peeled the veg.

Well, I think you should reframe your relationship with your hair. Your hair is you, part of you, so don't hate it or go to battle with it or reject it.

Embrace it. Wash it, dry it all while telling yourself over and over, "I have great hair (you do!). I love my hair. I have beautiful hair."

Yes, I hate it and I have to really force myself to do it. It's a dismal time consuming task. I wish I was rich enough to have someone else do it for me!

I'm the same op except I couldn't make it look as good as yours ever. Really resent all the money and time I've spent on it and still hate it. Tried to go curly- looks rubbish and big.

I can relate to that. Mine's passed shoulder length and pretty thick too. I do it over the bath with a hand held shower and jugs. I squeal like a baby if the shower does a spitting cobra on me. It takes aaaaages.

It sounds like you have naturally wavy/curly hair. Have you heard of the curly girl method? It can help you to care for your hair

Try using Colour Wow. It’ll keep your hair straight for four days. That way you only have to wash it twice a week and it stays silky. It’s expensive though at £25 a bottle.

Hair that's washed less frequently gets less oily. Your hair might stink after 2 days if you wash it every day...I was mine every 7 days and it doesn't get greasy unless I let it go longer than that..I'm someone who loves to smell nice.

I hate washing my hair and I do it only once a week.

It takes forever to dry with a hairdryer, and left to air dry it would be about 8 hours. My hairdresser dries it with me lying down, which is slightly preferable.

@EauNeu you will have gotten used to it, but trust me, you will smell bad. Regardless of oily/non oily hair, your head sweats. Just because your hair doesn't look like it's been deep fried your head needs washed!

Mine really is the easiest, most well-behaved hair ever. But I still put off washing it for an extra day or two if I can. I hate washing and drying it.

I've met my people! I thought it was just me. Sensory issues too, I have problems with showering as well, I just hate the feeling of being wet and cold. It's long enough now to just bung it in a messy bun. It does look nice when I can be bothered but mostly I can't.
OP, your hair looks gorgeous in the photo btw.
