Just that really.

Trying to 'soften' the look at home, but without too much effort 🙄

Just two spider plants. I water them when I remember to check if they need it.They seem to thrive on neglect.

Random789 · 05/04/2023 16:44

I've got over 30 Blush
Watering varies depending on the plant but I thinnk I tend to underwater everything. In addition to the usual watering-can regime I cart them all off into the bath or shower every now and again for a spa day.

CindersAgain · 05/04/2023 16:45

I have nine. Children have a few each.

I water them every 5-7 days I think.

Noisenuisance101 · 05/04/2023 16:45

Too many and once a week

Weepingwillows12 · 05/04/2023 16:45

Loads of plants. Maybe 25. I try and water once a week but some need it more, some less and it depends on the season too. That means all of them have some minor damage. One day i will know what they need.

Spider plants seem unkillable.

KilljoysMakeSomeNoise · 05/04/2023 16:46

Loads. I water them when they look like they're dying. I'm a bad plant parent. So far they're still alive though. For now.

FeetOnly · 05/04/2023 16:46

I have 2. they're in large post with those clay ball things and a water gauge. I try to make sure it floats between the min and max. Maybe once a week in summer. You can, according to the lady in our garden centre, use that type of system for any non-flowering plant.

H8o8 · 05/04/2023 16:47

Over 50. Some small, some large. My watering routine is basically the leftovers of random forgotten glasses of water from around the house. In the warmer months I'll water properly every 2-3 weeks or whenever I remember. Takes ages.

IHeartGeneHunt · 05/04/2023 16:48

Two orchids, a Christmas cactus, some spider plants, two big aloe Vera, and a dracaena tree. Water them once a week.

Proudofeveryone · 05/04/2023 16:48

3 in the kitchen don't know what they are. I just liked the look of them.
From Morrisons. They get watered every 3 weeks.

And one in the dining room which is a palm plant.
This gets watered once a month. It's in the shade.
At one point it was by the window in the light.
It went down to 4 leaves. We moved it and at the moment has
over 30 leaves.

As you can see I do not have green fingers.

I was never able to keep plants alive but now I have 2 that are thriving. I got these things from Amazon that you put in the soil and then put an upside down bottle filled with water in. The plants take the water they need. Have to refill the bottle every week or so but other than that, no effort at all. Highly recommend. It's handy for when you we go away too, we can just add another bottle depending on how long we'll be gone for.

BakedTattie · 05/04/2023 16:53

Far too many. Well over 100. I’ve got a conservatory though and love plants. I water when dry, roughly once a week. Feed them when growing, monthly.

YorkieTheRabbit · 05/04/2023 16:58

Three peace lilies, watered around every five or six days
Two oxalis, weekly
one zz plant, weekly
two African violets, weekly
one umbrella plant, weekly
six orchids roughly every ten days
one fiscus, weekly
kentia palm, every 10 days
Areca palm, weekly
parlour palm, weekly
calethea triostar, weekly
lipstick plant weekly
marring of hearts, ten days

MyMachineAndMe · 05/04/2023 17:03

An orchid. I water it when I remember.

Ponderingwindow · 05/04/2023 17:05

One succulent that defies my black thumb. It only has to be watered every few months.

every other plant I have tried to grow has died a horrible death.

lunar1 · 05/04/2023 17:08

About 50. When I just had a few they would die on my as I'd forget. Not it's a couple of hours a week job to water them, but it makes me do it. Be warned, people see your plants and buy you more. It's my equivalent of the mad cat lady, the mad plant lady!

At least half my plants are orchids.

Loiste · 05/04/2023 17:21

Loads, that I water once a week. Except Zamioculcas zamiifolia, a plant so tough it gets water no more than once per month. Highly recommended if you want low maintenance greenery!

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 05/04/2023 17:28
  1. I counted them last week, just out of interest. One I've only had a week, the oldest is older than me and I'm iny early 60s.

The watering routine varies from plant to plant, as does other care such as misting. I do half an hour every Saturday morning but frequently do a bit more specialised care during the week.

TowerStork · 05/04/2023 17:28

About 45 now. It was closer to 65 but I got rid of fussy/demanding ones. Snake plants, aspidistras are very straightforward if you don't want much effort. It really depends on your conditions. I have a very sunny and v dry house so I have lots of cacti and got rid of the humid loving plants

Changingplace · 05/04/2023 17:29

Loads, the vast majority thrive on being largely ignored, I water them usually when they’re completely dried out, most plants dislike being too soggy - a big cheese plant will be absolutely fine on a diet of partial sunlight & a splash of water now and again 😊

Backstreets · 05/04/2023 17:30

7, water them on Sundays, they get a little extra during summer.

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 05/04/2023 17:32

Why has my 42 come up as though it was the start of a chapter or something? Anyway, I have forty two houseplants.

wobblyweasel · 05/04/2023 17:34

I've got 5 spider plants, I can't seem to be able to grow anything else. They tend to survive with the occasional watering.

featheryfancy · 05/04/2023 17:36

I have 3 and water them when they remind me by threatening to die

Muchtoomuchtodo · 05/04/2023 17:46

I have 2. They droop. I water them, they perk up again.

repeat!
