Milky bar gold buttons and salted pretzels. I’m running a bath to avoid the siren call of them.

Apple pie and cheese. Pretzels dipped in nutella. Salted peanuts with runny honey. Bacon drizzled with maple syrup. Quince jam with ham, but it has to be homemade jam, and real ham not packet ham.

Lizzie from bake off a few seasons ago just posted a recipe for this delicious looking chilli syrup poured over feta and scooped up with bread. It looked incredible and made my mouth water.

My insane toddler often has buffet style meals so he can switch between various items and he loves strawberry yoghurt and sweetcorn. I can’t speak for how it tastes but it has his approval. 😂

DS2 once communicated that he wanted apple strudel with spaghetti hoops. He has ASD & is non verbal. He polished it all off, so I'm guessing he liked it.

One of the most popular starters I do is a slice of toasted homemade bread topped with prawns cooked in my own chilli jam with a bit of water, sprinkled with feta and popped under a roasting hot grill for a wee minute. I serve with extra bread and coriander for those who want it to sprinkle on. It is lovely.
