Blown away by the cost of a box of a box of pukka tea bags in Sainsbury's. Yes £4 for a grand total of 20 bags. I was a regular pukka tea drinker but no more.

I think it's always been about that, I only buy it on offer... Might be mistaken though.

Keep and eye on Holland and Barrett online. Sometimes they have buy one get one half price. I got 20 boxes last time.

Price of this is staggering.

BigGreen · 02/04/2023 19:12

Omg I had the exact same reaction today and then bought a box of Twinings! What is going on with food price inflation Shock

InTheStars · 02/04/2023 19:28

I've noticed the same with herbal teas. I remember Pukka being relatively expensive, but not 4 quid.

AmniMajus · 02/04/2023 19:31

Ouch! I used to love pukka teas, cheaper to buy herb plants and dry your own at this rate.

Sewaccidentprone · 02/04/2023 19:47

they’re currently on offer in Tesco’s. No use if there isn’t one near you though

ThePoshUns · 02/04/2023 19:51

I noticed that the other day. Ridiculous.
As is the price of Heinz tomato ketchup agree.

WorriedMillie · 02/04/2023 19:52

We use Joe’s tea, it’s the same price (but far nicer for Earl Grey, IMHO and I know you weren’t asking for alternatives 🤣)
I interspace with cheaper stuff, to keep costs down!

Lottapianos · 02/04/2023 19:54

I'm sure I remember Pukka tea being £2.50 not that long ago. £4 is shocking

Badbudgeter · 02/04/2023 19:56

Stuff is so expensive these days. Every time I go to the shop everything has gone up again. Things like tea bags and coffee I only buy on special offer.

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 02/04/2023 19:58

I don't know, it's to be expected? War, Brexit, nothing would be the great for a while, for sure. I don't know why people can be so shocked, tbh.

SensitiveB · 02/04/2023 20:03

I also object to Pukka’s individually wrapped tea bags. I’d much rather pay less and also have them bundled in together without the extra packaging

thegrain · 02/04/2023 20:03

I like them teapigs

gkhg · 02/04/2023 20:06

£5 for a watermelon in Asda the other day. I almost fell over

ihatethecold · 02/04/2023 20:11

Teapigs taste of nothing
so disappointing

They are amazing! Way better than the pukka which just taste like a mouth full of herbs

Not really surprising though? Its not watermelon season and they don't grow in this country

Comedycook · 02/04/2023 20:13

I saw Oxo cubes in the supermarket yesterday for more than £3 for a small box.

Oh and when I couldn't find own brand tampons and ketchup...I had to buy Tampax and Heinz. £7 in total.

Wtf

Zwicky · 02/04/2023 20:14
