Want to settle the stupidest argument ever?

DP and I are jet lagged and so are our toddler and newborn and as such we are having the stupidest whinge to each other.

DP saw that I had put my clothes in the top two drawers of the large chest of drawers, and started complaining about why does he always have to have the bottom ones.

I said because a- I was the first one to unpack so why would I choose the lowest ones, and b- in our last house he would just leave piles of clean and dirty clothes lying around on the floor and on top of surfaces and his drawers were mostly full of clothes he didn't even wear. I actually use my drawers.

He said that I should have the lowest ones because I'm a foot shorter than him so I have less distance to travel to get to them.

I said that's bollocks.

Who's being the most stupid here? (Yes, we both are, yes it's lighthearted, no I wont be moving my drawers)

Why are you sharing a chest of drawers though? Don't you need one each, so you both have lower drawers and higher ones?

Even on holiday we put our clothes in separate wardrobes, ne'er the twain shall meet, etc.

Maybe you both need a nap. Or a cup of tea.

If the man took the top drawers I bet the replies would be different

I tend to unpack first with clothes so usually work it out as evenly as possible

Dh deals with my precious chocolate stash and whatever weird food he brings first

He’d be a selfish arse and you’d be told to consider leaving him

yes it’s a daft argument but as a pp said, there’s something about someone choosing the best for themselves that would grate a bit, jet lagged or not.

I love threads like these as they help to balance out my disappointment at being permanently single. I can have ALL the drawers.

(Yes, I know there are a zillion downsides to being single but let me have this please)
