Is it now common for teen boys to wear tinted moisturiser?

My 16yo son has been wearing tinted moisturiser for a couple of years. I think he may originally have googled how to hide acne spots and it went from there. I thought it might be a temporary thing, but seems not. He seems to be buying brands aimed at men. Is it a common thing these days?

I don't mind, just curious, though as I don't wear much makeup myself I'm inclined to prefer him to just keep his skin clean and lightly moisturised without overloading it with anything else. (For context, in case anyone was inclined to ask, he is straight, very sporty, and only very marginally interested in fashion).

Yes. The Origins vitazing is fantastic.

This. I’ve used this and never taken it off at night. What do people think is going to happen? I thought the whole point of tinted moisturiser was to leave it on so it could gradually build up colour.

Of course you have to take off a tinted moisturiser at night? It’s tinted make up, not a fake tan that builds up.

Personally, no i don't know any men who wear make up (and young men appear in my home regularly as there's 3 young ladies here who capitalise on our liberal values Grin

If it's tinted it is make up in my opinion, couldn't care less if men want to wear it I should add but the colour in it means it's make up

It’s completely unproblematic. I think it’s a bit odd that you would ‘prefer’ him to wear a different moisturiser/not wear what makes him comfortable. He is 16 and it’s his face.

My DH wore concealer as a late teen/early twenties in the 90s to camouflage redness and acne so I wouldn’t bat and eyelid with tinted moisturiser on men.

Surely he's old enough to decide what he puts on his own skin?

PedroPascal · 28/03/2023 19:03

I don't think I've ever seen this on a man, or if I have it's been subtle so I haven't noticed.

I don't live somewhere with lots of studenty types, if that makes a difference.

Unusual among 16 year old boys where I am, but there's no reason why he shouldn't be wearing it if he wants to
