What’s Happening In Your House?

Anyone up to much? Up very early as my lower back was killing me. Had a nice quiet couple of hours before DH & DD14 emerged. DH working although he’s home for his usual 2 hour break at the mo. I’ve dropped DD off in our nearest big town as she’s going to the cinema with a friend. The friend’s DF is giving them a lift back. I should be decluttering & cleaning but will probably compose on the piano instead. I haven’t played much recently & absolutely love it. Chinese takeaway (delivered) for tea as I missed out on Mothers Day. Fancy duck in plum sauce with egg fried rice & chips. DD will probably demand Maccies but it’s quite a way to go & pricy to get delivered. She used to like Chinese chips but no longer for some reason. Will probably watch Ant & Dec then Starstruck or maybe find a movie.

I’ve taken myself off for a bubble bath, complete with book and a bar of chocolate. No idea what anyone else in the house is doing (and don’t care!).

I took DS1 to a party today, then picked up DS2 from GP house. Have been hanging at home all afternoon, DH is working til 7. After he gets home it's bed for the kids, wine for me, ant&dec and some gaming time with DH after. I really really fancy a Chinese takeaway but can't afford it til pay day Friday sadly so burger and chips out the freezer it will be. Hope we can get a Chinese next weekend!! 🙌

Had a coffee and chat in bed with DP this morning then took DS1 to football training and popped to Aldi for mince as online shop wasn’t arriving early enough for slow cooker chilli tonight.
Came home and got the slow cooker chilli on and then had to go back out and pick him up again!

DS2 got picked up to go to a party and a sleepover and then DS1 and I practiced his new school commute (he starts a new one on Monday) so two trains there and then two buses back. We live in London so he has about 6 options, today was about him knowing how to use Citymapper basically!

Got in and then decided to go out again and get him some new school trousers as he’s had a growth spurt, DSD and DSS came with and we got snack and treats for this evening.

Currently lying on couch watching London Irish with DP rubbing my feet. DSD has gone back to her mums as she’s off on a school trip tmrw. DS1 is in the snug watching football, DSS is in his room playing his switch.

Later, after chilli, DP and DSS are playing Xbox cricket and DS1 and I are watching Slumdog Millionaire which I haven’t seen for ages

DS (13) had his last rugby match of season so i dropped him off at 7.15 am. Came home and did 3 loads of washing while DH walked the dog. Dog rolled in something toxic so it took us 30 mins to shampoo him!

Picked up DS.

DD (17) woke up at 12.30- late night as she was at a concert the night before. She'd planned to stay with a friend but jumped in someone else's Uber at the last min as she fancied a night in her own bed. All her stuff was still at friends house so I said I'd take her to get it. Dropped DS at friends house for football on way. Traffic horrific as they'd closed the M4 slip roads round Chiswick so it took us 2 bloody hours!

Then helped DD tidy her room and sort out all her school books and papers. She's amazingly messy and disorganised but trying to get better so I'm helping her as long as she's engaging with it as well.

Now DS is back and apparently another friend of his is coming round for a sleepover tonight and DD is off to a netball dinner followed by a party and will need another lift.

They're very sociable, sporty, active kids but sometimes I wish they were quieter! My weekends are chauffeuring and washing and I worry that when they leave I'll be one of those empty nest mums who has lost all ability to do things for herself....

Deep cleaning the kitchen today, cleaning all the floors downstairs, making the bedroom look fab. We have Japanese guests staying on Monday and I want everything to be perfect!

DH giving kids their tea. I'm fasting so have 20 mind or so left before I eat. Trying to muster energy to get up off the sofa. One set of prayers to finish before I break my fast.

I took MIL to her hospital appt this morning, then ASDA shopping. Feeling cold although the thermostat says 19.5.

Had every intention to make chicken, courgette and spinach curry but will do that tomorrow 🤞🏽

I've had a lovely day.
Went for a run this morning then a haircut and mooch around town.
Watched ds1 play rugby this afternoon with Dh and ds2 and now we're back, fire is lit, chilli is cooking and red wine about to be opened. I think we're going to watch the new Black Panther film tonight.
A perfect Saturday!
