Famous people you used to really fancy but now give you the ick

Lighthearted obvs…

DD and I have been watching Scrubs and I remember how much I used to have a huge crush on Zach Braff when I was younger. I just googled him and he hasn’t aged well and also now find his character really annoying in Scrubs (and now I really fancy Dr Cox 😂). I did also read that he dated the very gorgeous Florence Pugh so maybe he has hidden depths (although the 17 year age gap I found a bit ick inducing too).

Jared Leto. There's so much talk of him sleeping with underage girls as young as 14on the 30 Seconds to Mars tours. Plus all his weird behaviour on the set of Suicide Squad.

Russel Brand. He's gone all sanctimonious and I just can't bear to listen to him now.

Leonardo DiCaprio. Purely because he's hanging around with girls young enough to be his daughter, who weren't even born when his career took off. He's still a handsome man but ick! Ick, ick, ick!

Orlando Bloom. Smug.

Marilyn Manson. Even before all the abuse allegations came out it was obvious that all the drugs and booze were catching up with him and he'd gone all jowley and puffy, since they came out I can't even listen to the music anymore. Major ick.

Phil Anselmo. Cracking voice. Dynamic performer. When he was young in the 90's he was absolutely gorgeous. Sadly he's a massive white supremacist. Straight in the bin with him!

Fortunately I still have a very deep and abiding love of Jarvis Cocker, who only gets better with age in my opinion. And Christian Slater isn't bad either. Still fancy Brendan Fraser and all. 😂

Just joining the ‘the only one who doesn’t give me the ick is Keanu’ club.

Basically any celeb I used to fancy back in the day gives me the ick now. Not even due to aging, I think as you get older you realise most celebs are just narcissistic messes and it’s very unappealing.

And yes Keanu is still hot and I think it’s a lot to do with him being and remaining totally unproblematic.

Duncan from Blue. He’s still good looking at the moment (and I know I’m not exactly his target market anyway), but you can see he’s started to have work done; he’s getting that slightly waxy, cheeks too pronounced look. Why can’t people leave their faces alone?

I saw him in a show last year and he looks like his face has been ripped off, shrank in the wash and ironed back on, badly.

Used to have a slow burn crush on him. Read his biography, 'Ten' and went right off him. Can't even face finishing it but I know I need too but it's become a chore. For no other reason than his 'Big Brother' t.v. show obsession. The show, the participants and the audience were very much his tribe.

That just gave me some serious ick.

He had a breakdown when his marriage ended and he says he felt like his life wasn't worth anything. He says imperiously, 'I can't go through anything like that again or it will be the end of me.'

Grow up and find some resilience, man !

His over-reliance on his mother is very tedious too. (Yes, I know he grew up in a single parent household, but still.)

Didn't his marriage end cos he cheated ?

I don't really think that's what the thread is about. People's tastes change. Rob Lowe is still hot, Gary Barlow has definitely aged like a fine wine. Sometimes we have odd tastes as teenagers and wonder what on earth were we thinking. I find older men more attractive than younger ones to be honest.

In addition to Keanu I’d add Eddie Vedder to the aged well and seems like a really nice person list. Seems happily married with two daughters and stands up for women’s rights, feminism etc.
