I'm with you on this on the miserable arses bench. All the cars whizzing past are a dealbreaker for me - once viewed houses a few streets away from the A2 and the noise in the back gardens was absolutely terrible, not to mention the obvious pollution either.

See, I saw it the other way around: by being clear that it's a house with a crazy layout and it's right on the main road, they will get fewer viewings but they will be people who are already aware of those issues. They didn't try to hide the constant cars going past. It's not for me because I couldn't live on a main road like that, but others will be able to for various reasons. It beats having 50 viewings with 48 of them saying right away, oh no, not on this busy road.

(Others have said that the 'performer' is the agent, not the owner.)

Nauseating. Total put-off

Blogswife · 24/03/2023 11:21

Very clever idea ! They’ll get thousands of hits now !

ItsRainingCatsAndDogsAgain · 24/03/2023 11:24

I don't know about singing to sell houses, but my ears are hurting with all the flat singing.

MavisMcMinty · 24/03/2023 11:27

That may be the only way I’ll ever sell my stupid house.

Good point - when I asked the agent who would buy these houses (on a busy road) she said a bit racistly, or I took it that way - 'foreign' people with big families.

This ^. I wish more estate agents were this honest, saves both parties time and effort. I remember once driving to see an end of terrace house for sale where the photo had been carefully taken to hide the fact that the side wall was the wall to the churchyard. I'm sure there are loads of people who have no problem with that but the fact that the photo was obviously taken to hide the fact just pisses off people like me who don't want to live next to a graveyard. I didn't even bother looking inside.

MavisMcMinty · 24/03/2023 11:34

Nice and quiet, houses by graveyards.

😂That's hilarious. If I ever need to conduct a survey amongst foreign people with big families, now I know where to look.

As a teenager I lived in a house on a main road for a few months, when we'd just moved to a new city. My parents rented it as it was close to my school and we could have pets there, while we looked for somewhere to buy. We weren't even foreign! So buy to let would be another option for main road houses.

MavisMcMinty · 24/03/2023 11:37

There was an empty chapel up for sale in my village. The only outside space is a small ancient graveyard, which the buyers would have to keep open access to anyone, anyone at all, wanting to wander around it. It sold for £80K.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 24/03/2023 11:43

I think any property will sell if it's at the right price (or if property in an area is in short supply). Not sure I'd fancy inviting friends round for barbecue in an ancient graveyard!

unclebuck · 24/03/2023 13:10

When I sold my last house the agents did not tell people about the river being near our house. It was infuriating!!! After the first 3 viewings where we cleaned, tidied, kids out of the house etc and then then the first thing they said was "sorry we wouldn't have looked if we knew it was near the river" 😡 total waste of mine and the viewers time. I changed agent and got it added to the details.

TheDogsMother · 24/03/2023 13:56

WTF have I just watched ??? I will have to get any future estate agent to sign an oath that they won't do this for my house.

strawberry2017 · 24/03/2023 14:03

I don't like the house but that video is genius 😂

Deathraystare · 24/03/2023 14:32

Oh shit he’s bad! Balls though

Sorryyoufeelthatway · 24/03/2023 15:32

I like the vibe but the main road and wonky bedside candles put me off and I had to turn it off.
Brilliant!

Sorryyoufeelthatway · 24/03/2023 15:32

Plus reeks of dogs

hadenoughofhisshit · 24/03/2023 15:46

Stranger things have happened in that master bedroom eh?

TheYearOfSmallThings · 24/03/2023 15:47

That Australian one isn't nearly as good as The Neverending Property.

SleekMamma · 24/03/2023 18:28

It's being profiled on radio 4 just now!!!!
