What's the worst film you've ever watched? Think I just melted my brain...

...by watching Spy Intervention on Prime. It has Drew Van Acker in it of PLL fame and I was looking for something a bit easy, he's pretty (I know, I know, very high brow of me) and dear GOD it was terrible. I may have to burn my own eyes out - was it a romance, was it a comedy? Was it just fucking terrible? yes, yes to the latter.

I can't quite believe I kept watching until the bitter end, I think I was expecting something to happen that would explain why it was so bad?

What's the worst film you've ever watched?

PS: DVA WAS pretty in it. Very. But it still wasn't enough to save it.

La La Land.
Vanilla Sky
Black Swan
Moulin Rouge

MrsMoastyToasty · 21/03/2023 08:45

Empire of the Sun. I watched it hoping it would get better. It didn't. That's 2 and a half hours I'll never get back.
Weekend at Bernies. Who thought that pretending a corpse was still alive was a good idea?

Also Spectre is a mess, plot wise, despite the stunning cinematography. When they're on the train Blofeld send a guy to try to kill them. But once they've killed the assassin, instead Blofeld just sends a car to pick them up at the station. WTF?

3 films I have described at the time as ‘the worst I’ve ever seen’ - each was eventually superseded by the next one:

Three to Tango - was never going to be a great film, but with actors I normally enjoy I thought it would be unchallenging relaxation fodder. Instead it was a sequence of uncomfortable moments, I was embarrassed for the cast.

Date Movie - actually kept watching this because I assumed there must be some sort of point to it and I wanted to see what it was. Assumed wrong.

Jexi - watched in lockdown when we were all taking it in turns to pick a film. Youngest DD picked this after recognising the guy from Modern Family and apparently it’s a really funny film if you’re 14.

I hope I will never need to add another film to this list

Moonfall'. That was awful and I absolutely do not recommend it on any level

That one falls into the "so bad it's good" category for me. I saw it on a plane and woke up DP by laughing so much (it's not a comedy).

Particularly the scene where our heroes get on board the broken space shuttle and blast off (despite a total lack of any ground staff), and while they're on their way to the moon, whatsisname asks Halle Berry to give their location and she says it in longitude and latitude 😄

MaidOfSteel · 21/03/2023 08:58

The Colour of Money.

Tom Cruise and Paul Newman. Should've been great, but it was so boringly bad, my 2 companions fell asleep.

City of Angels with Meg Ryan and the fence post formerly known as Nicholas Cage. Dear God, 25 years ago and I still want my time and money back.

holachicas · 21/03/2023 09:13

World’s End…only film I’ve ever wanted to walk out of the cinema on. I saw it with a friend and we both hated it but thought the other was enjoying it.

it was crap.

KatnissNeverdone · 21/03/2023 09:13

The Emoji Movie. I knew it was going to be dire but it was so much worse. Like a 90 minute advert.

Hot Fuzz. I've never turned a film off before. What a load of tosh.

Thank you!!!!

I threatened to walk out of cinema but DH begged me to stay and I didn't fancy the walk home. Ppl on here seem to like it but I loathed it.

Also Titanic. Honestly such drivel and so annoying. Didn't like anyone and although you really can't hope ppl drown faster so it will be over there was a bit of that...
