What's the worst film you've ever watched? Think I just melted my brain...

...by watching Spy Intervention on Prime. It has Drew Van Acker in it of PLL fame and I was looking for something a bit easy, he's pretty (I know, I know, very high brow of me) and dear GOD it was terrible. I may have to burn my own eyes out - was it a romance, was it a comedy? Was it just fucking terrible? yes, yes to the latter.

I can't quite believe I kept watching until the bitter end, I think I was expecting something to happen that would explain why it was so bad?

What's the worst film you've ever watched?

PS: DVA WAS pretty in it. Very. But it still wasn't enough to save it.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Bad Moms. I don’t think I bothered to finish them. So bad.

Yes?! Forgetting Sarah Marshall is my worst as well. The plot is ridiculous and reads like the writer has no idea how service jobs work. Why would beautiful receptionist fall for mopey, ugly, whinging guy? Why did she act like his ‘musical’ was anything other than cringey nonsense? So many questions.

Woahhohoho · 21/03/2023 07:48

Les Mis. Oh dear god I hated it. I was willing them all to die by the end so I could leave.

And a random film on Netflix about a teenage lad whose nob got cut off, it was supposed to be a comedy but maybe I just wasn't the target audience.

I fall asleep through most films unless they're really bad annoyingly.

Isledelaray · 21/03/2023 07:49

American Pie 3 although I didn't watch it, I walked out after about half an hour.

Mama Mia was also terrible.

Unsure33 · 21/03/2023 07:49

2001 a space oddesey .

owiz · 21/03/2023 07:57

In recent memory, White Noise

Wildehorses · 21/03/2023 08:01

Whatever Batman film George Clooney was in, first and only time I have walked out of the cinema.
Streamed Everything Everywhere at home recently, could not understand any of it and gave me a headache, lasted 30mins before giving up

Glad to see Left Behind got a mention

Sunday evening film - so bad it sucks you in.

Tron. I was 11 and forty years on I still remember how bored I felt. Thanks, dad!

The Lake House or the last John Wick movie.

Sorry Keanu, you've done some good stuff but those two are stinkers!

Wash your mouth out!! 🤣
I love the Lake House! The Paul McCartney song is just perfect.

AI

It went on and on and on and on

God, yes. AI was dire. And the ending!

Also Avatar 2. I thought it would never end. I haven't seen Avatar 1, and I never will.

Also the one about the Spotless Mind. Everyone raved about it, but I was baffled. Ditto Lost In Translation. Christ.

I am not going to bother with EEAAO. I know I'll hate it just from what I saw on Graham Norton.

I truly dire film with Gérard Butler (for which it seems there are many contenders) is Law Abiding Citizen. Terrible things happen to him in the early scenes, but long before the end, he becomes the bad guy. Terrible, terrible film. I still love GB though.

Penguinsaregreat · 21/03/2023 08:11

My Own Private Idaho. Absolute dross.
The English Patient, felt like I was waiting to die.

Actually no, it was none of the above, now I think. The absolute worst film of all time ever, and I have seen Sharknado, is The Sex Lives of the Potato Men.

Penguinsaregreat · 21/03/2023 08:13

Agree that Avatar was far too long. My teeth were twitching 30 minutes before the end.

Trading Places
Clockwise
Elvis

Clockwise??? I love Clockwise

Mama Mia for me. Unbelievable shite.

DurhamDurham · 21/03/2023 08:16

Avatar, I just feel like wasted hours of my life. None of it mattered, they were just blue.

Oh I forgot American Pie. I saw the first one at the cinema on a date (his choice). Without a doubt the worst thing I've ever seen and the fact that my date appeared to love it meant the end for any potential romance between us.

thecatneuterer · 21/03/2023 08:21

Just remembered another one a date made me sit through, as it was his favourite film of all time - Amelie. Words can't describe just how tedious it was and how much I hated it.

My DP hated that film. I loved it and thought it genius 😂

Meet Joe Black - the most boring film ever.

Agree with this! We were actually sat laughing when he got hit by the car as it was just so bad

MannyTeddy · 21/03/2023 08:34

The English patient was awful! Will never get those hours back.

Sidge · 21/03/2023 08:35

Llamageddon. We thought it might be so bad it’s good. No. It’s just so bad.

I also hated Mamma Mia, Inception, Interstellar, anything with Nicolas Cage in and refuse to watch Avatar.

BeStrongLittleRodney · 21/03/2023 08:39

I hated Monster’s Ball, and more recently, Allelujah.

BanditsGravyStain · 21/03/2023 08:41

Avatar: The Last Airbender (not the James Cameron one though that was shite too).

The animated version of the last airbender was so good. The movie made me want to stick pins into my eyes

newrubylane · 21/03/2023 08:43

A Walk To Remember. The dreariest teen rom com ever.
