One small packet and 4 elastic bands... 😂

He must've known I needed them...

Another one in receipt of BAM socks and catalogue.

I got them too…my third pair in three months! I haven’t bought anything from there for a couple of years (don’t need to…they keep sending me new socks for free! )

ZoChan · 18/03/2023 20:11

Yes!!! All my elastic bands are from the Royal Mail. An excellent service 😂

Anotheanon · 18/03/2023 20:22

I was feeling very jealous because I have not had a pair of free socks for a couple of years. Then dh handed me the post and I am now wearing new, very cosy socks 😀

torquewench · 18/03/2023 20:23

My £2820 council tax bill.
Junk
No rubber bands

We only get post delivered once a week, sometimes once every 2-3 weeks. It’s been like this for over a year. I’d assumed everywhere was this bad so feeling a bit miffed to realise it’s just our area and other people get regular post still! (DD gets a “weekly” magazine so we time the post by how many of those arrive at once).

Are you in the UK? We get a regular AM post Mon-Sat and another guy goes round in the PM with parcels. I find it funny how differently things work in other areas of the UK, assuming you are here.

@moggiek I get a pair every month and have only ever made one purchase, in their sale, 7 years ago!!

Taytocrisps · 18/03/2023 21:02

Nothing. No post here on Saturdays.

YouTarzan · 18/03/2023 21:10

It’s years since BAM sent me any free socks!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 18/03/2023 21:19

I got a dress pattern printed onto A0, so much easier than printing a million A4 pages and sticking them together.

lurchermummy · 18/03/2023 21:45

A letter from HMRC for DH. A Hotter catalogue for me.

moggiek · 18/03/2023 22:24

@Poppyliveshere ditto!!

littlecrocodiles · 18/03/2023 22:33

Smol washing tablets.

Another one here who used to get free BAM socks, not had any for a while now.

Yes, in the UK and in a reasonably sized city, not a rural location or anything. It started being like this during covid and then just never improved. The one plus side is that when there are postal strikes it doesn’t make any difference!

Parcels do come but they are a different service and I think paid for differently- they come in a separate van

Mexicansky · 18/03/2023 23:30

I got a few birthday cards, a Mother's Day card and a parking fine 🙄

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 18/03/2023 23:33

Absolutely nothing.
Although earlier in the week they tried to deliver a parcel. But because it was 8.30 am and they have no idea how to knock loudly on a door I didn't hear them.

Furries · 19/03/2023 02:46

Council tax bill - yay!

My postie is great. Popped out the other day and returned to find a card in the hallway stating that unable to deliver a parcel and giving the reference to collect it from the sorting office. Two hours later, he knocked at the door. He was passing on his way back at the end of his shift and thought he’d try again.

No elastic bands dropped in front garden here. But when I lived in London it was a regular occurrence in the communal hallway of my block of flats. I got into the habit of picking them up and chucking them in a little box. Every couple of months or so, I’d pop them in an envelope and drop them in the postbox on the way to my tube station 🤣

Summerhillsquare · 19/03/2023 05:54

I find I am in want of bamboo socks and a dormouse necklace after this.

BessieSurtees · 19/03/2023 08:20

Just realised I haven’t checked my porch for post.

I love that someone got a post card and another has pen pals, makes me feel nostalgic, imagine if we’d had RM elastic bands when making French skipping ropes back in the day.

What do you use Royal Mail elastic bands for could be a thread in itself.

@Lolreally do it today I kept forgetting mine until I watched a segment on morning TV about how important it is.

@Bahhhhhumbug wrong thread but fwiw I agree or the threshold should be lowered.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 19/03/2023 08:26

@rainylake l wonder if you live in my city.

We had no post at all last week, then about 15 letters and parcels in the Saturday, and none at all this week. I’ve complained about it. There’s some important stuff in there including my new debit card. I can’t get access to any money until this arrives.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 19/03/2023 08:37

We also got a flyer from the Conservatives. Nothing else. We live in a very, very marginal seat for both councillors and MP. We tend to swing every election, of either sort.

Ilovetocrochet · 19/03/2023 13:40

I’ve no idea what BAM socks are but think I’m missing out!

Ichosetheredpill · 19/03/2023 14:49

@Train007 I don’t think he’d actually eat the postman but he’s one of those JRT’s who sounds lethal as he throws himself at the door 😂 If the postman threw a ball for him he’d be a pushover.

Stickykidney · 21/03/2023 14:28

Derail but I'm ordering some BAM socks thanks to this thread. Does anyone have a refer a friend code I can use for them? That may restart the free socks for someone! 😂
