We inherited a tiny butter knife with its own sheath

Not inherited obviously (not in the will) but DD saved it from a kitchen drawer of ‘stuff’. From DH’s Dad a couple of years ago. It’s not sentimental, it’s just so random. It has pride of place in the kitchen and is strangely amusing. Lay the table with it sometimes next to a proper sized fork for the unsuspecting teenager.

What other random items do you have that you love?

That's a lovely little knife OP!

These things all look really dinky individually, and are especially nice when associated with a much-missed relative. However, my MIL died recently and she has a houseful of all this stuff, hundreds of little boxes of fish knives, coffee spoons and silver (not solid) cruet sets - and I'm not exaggerating!

No one wants all this stuff now so god knows what we are going to do with it all!

I’ve also got loads of silverware - from my side of the family and DH’s.

There are lots of little bits and bobs I love and have no idea who they belonged to. Like this little wood and bone needle-holder in the shape of an umbrella, probably Victorian. They were mass-produced, so it’s of no value, and the handle is broken (it would have been curved, I think) but I love it. It’s 4 inches long.

I have my step-grans ceramic orange juicer. It's so cute! I keep my sugar in it.

We have the Ancestral Salad Servers. They’re made of translucent pink plastic, and are like scissors, but with salad server scoopy bits on the ends rather than blades. My aunty remembers playing with them when she was a little girl, I played with them, and now DS has them in his toy box.

these things will often sell in groups they are small so you can ring your local auction house, novelty tiny silver items sell well especially pin cushions, needle holders, however silver cutlery is mostly scrap value (but check hallmarks first) but at approx 50p per gram it soon adds up
silver plate depends so much on item but silver plate teaspoons and pepper pots ae not worth a lot and if the silver has been polished off it's virtually nothing

@Diplidocus4 yes they are coffee bean spoons if silver worth about £40-60 for a set of 6 if silver plated (EPNS) about £10 but lovely to have the ends are bakelite
@newtowelsplease it is a small pickle or cocktail fork for olives or tiny pickled onions often used with canapes

Thank you! I will polish it up and use it for this now
