Hi,

My diet has been pretty shocking since Christmas. I am eating far too much bread/toast/bagels/ rolls all with butter and or mayo depending on the toppings not enough veg. This is for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also in between having pasta and tomato puree.

i do try to stick to wholemeal bread but enjoy a plain bagel and crumpets! My weight has been rocketing because of this and every night I tell myself tomorrow will be a healthier day, but it doesn’t change.

I know that carbs in moderation is fine, but looking to try and cut most of it out for a few weeks to get back on track. I just don’t know where to start!

Any suggestions for meals would be great. So far I have porridge and fruit or yoghurt and granola for breakfast.

lunch scrambled egg with no butter? Maybe some cherry tomatoes with it. What else though?!
I work until 6pm and by that time I’m usually starving and end up eating the crap I’ve mentioned earlier.

So what do all of you who are healthy eat on a daily basis?

Thanks

Super star!

Prep is key and having some bits to grab when you are hungry! Also don't restrict too much at once!

Well done 👏

I’d 100% recommend reading this book, I employed pippa several years ago as a 1_1 nutritionist and lost weight quickly following her advice but such is life I stopped following the advice and (some of) the weight has crept back on but her knowledge and explanations are so clear it’s worth a read (for a fiver!). It’s not a diet but advice about which foods to eat for your best body. I’m literally itching to get back on it following her advice, just waiting to get Mother’s Day out of the way before i do in case my girls have any foodie surprises. I appreciate I commented above but I’d forgotten half the info pippa gave me so it’s great to have it suddenly recovered and written in a book (I only got it a few days ago).

Help me to eat less bread/carbs please.

Don't try to do everything at once otherwise youlll crash and burn a lot sooner. Particularly low carb diets need fat for energy so you should be cooking with oil / butter. Plus a snack of prosciutto and manchego saved me no end of times when I was hunting for a treat! Very easy to have in the fridge to snack on.

Just do one thing at a time

  • reduce carbs / sugar
  • low fat
  • no red meat
  • no processed meat
