Gary Glitter is being recalled to jail one month after his release for breaking his licence conditions.

The Parole Board didn't release him. He was released automatically at the halfway point of his sentence. They will now decide on any re-release though.

There is something very wrong with the justice system if people are given a sentence and then they only have to serve half of it. What's the fucking point in sentencing them to x years in the first place?

iirc, one of his songs was used in the film Joker. I was gobsmacked to hear it, but I suppose he isn’t known or notorious in America. Whatever, at least he doesn’t profit from it.

Reducing the number of people who watch porn made by others reduces the attractiveness of making it.

I'm not arguing for chemical castration but as a reason not to, this seems very weak

He will never be safe in the community.

Im a great believer in second chances and people being able to turn their life around. HOWEVER offenders like this, repeated sex offender, don’t change……many don’t want to and many aren’t capable of change.

There was a TV drama a few years ago that showed him being sentenced to death, it was really interesting, the actor looked just like him and the hangman was a happy, positive type. I know the death penalty is wrong and all that but he wouldn't be able to do it again.

Probably not so much stupid, but unable to control his sick mind, and having no compassion for another human being and the suffering he causes, so long as he gets what he wants.

This, 100%. Pity he cant be put down like all sex offenders and murderers. Save the country a fortune and a huge number of ruined lives.
