You cannot cure people (let's face it, men mostly) being sexually attracted to children, if you could cure it you could cure other sexual attractions ( same sex etc) the moral ones will make sure they are never in a position to be near children and control themselves, the immoral will never be able to be trusted. The only way to protect children is for offenders to be permanently removed from society. Prison works, its letting them out that doesn't!

Re chemical castration, I believe its been proven in many cases that men who've been CC they've began using objects to sexually abuse their victims instead.
