We haven’t had a thread like this for a while …… or I haven’t seen it 😉

I find them so relaxing, think it’s the calm family weekend life .

so today I have been very lazy , and am currently binge watching the Bay in bed . Every time an episode finishes I go do a job so I don’t feel too lazy - washing is hung out and I have washed up haha

husband is out at work till nine ish , daughter has been to her maths tutor and now aT her Saturday job .

youngest is currently being parented by his Xbox , however, we are walking to pick some stuffed mushrooms from the olio lady when this episode ends in a bid to do something productive

Day out with a friend from overseas. Pub lunch and visit to major tourist destination. Fab day, now driving home.

Decafflatteplease · 11/03/2023 16:45

We've had a lovely cosy day just how I like it.

I was up at 7 with toddler (DH does Sundays), tea and toast together under a blanket on the couch.

Homework for older DC this morning while I pottered around.

After lunch teens amused themselves, little ones did Lego, I popped round to a friend's house for a coffee and to pick up a bag of her DC outgrown clothes we've had a clothes swap going for years it's great!

Burgers (lovely "homemade" by the butcher's ones) for tea in a bit, brioche buns, corn and wedges.

Large red wine and TV with DH when DC asleep as is our usual Saturday routine!

Normally lucysmam does one of these threads on a Saturday morning but I couldn't see it this morning hope she's ok

Woke up around 7.30am, had a little lay in with baby ds in my arms and 3 year old dd in bed next to me. Dh got up and did the food shop.

We got up, dh came back with fresh croissants and we all had breakfast together.

Had a hot shower & washed my hair (1st time I’ve washed my hair in 6 days and it feels heavenly)

Around lunchtime, we all wrapped up & went out for a lovely walk by the sea, went to one of our fave cafes where dd had some ice cream. Ds slept soundly the whole 2 hours.

Back home, I put some washing on, put away some laundry. There’s still about 4 loads to do😵‍💫
Did some colouring in with dd and then set up a paint station for her.

Currently sat in the living room watching Four In A Bed, baby napping on me and dd playing a game on my kindle fire thing. Dh is just about to start making curry for tea.
Going to watch a film together later, then we will probably all go up to bed together at about 8.30! We are so tired at the moment with a newborn, the early nights are most welcome!

Funkyslippers · 11/03/2023 16:51

Woke at 7 but dozed on & off till 8.45. Took my friend's dog for a walk with DD2 as we do every Sat morning. Home for lunch. Shark vaccuum overheating so took it apart, cleaned filters etc but still the same so might have given up the ghost so might have to get a new one. Lots of expense lately. Spoke to DD1 who's in uni 200 miles away. She's a bit upset about new boyfriend so I tried to help as best I could. Currently sat in mcds with DD2 and v disappointed that they don't have any hot chocolate! Pasta for tea & maybe watch a film with OH

Starseeking · 11/03/2023 16:52

DC are with their EOW Dad for the last weekend for about 6 weeks, so I got up at about 11.30am this morning.

Got showered and dressed, and went for a leisurely brunch at my favourite local cafe.

Ordered 2 bouquets of Mothers Day flowers from a local florist for my Mum and my DC's Nanny, then came home to clean my house from top to bottom.

So far I've done 3 loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom, and stripped all the beds.

Not sure whether I'll tackle the hoovering today or tomorrow as currently lying on the sofa resting.

Beaverbridge · 11/03/2023 16:58

Lovely sunny day here, central Scotland, so dug out garden tools and spent 3 hours down borders. Needs another week spent on it. Got bedding washed and dried on line. Bed tonight will be a treat!. OH just finished work and we, re have a take away. Living life on the edge here!!!!.

InFiveMins · 11/03/2023 17:07

Just me and DP here. We woke up early and went out for a cooked breakfast and took the dog for a walk around the local park. Got home around 2ish and I put a curry in the slow cooker for later. Now watching Crufts whilst browsing MN. DP is listening to a podcast whilst doing some housework and in about an hour's time we'll have the curry with a beer and a glass of wine in front of the TV.

Twospaniels · 11/03/2023 17:11

Put a dark wash on

Fed and cleaned out my chickens and thier house (collected 3 eggs)

Walked the dog with my husband - about 2 miles

Got the wash into the dryer and onto the airer

Drove 2.5hrs to Oxfordshire to look at a boat, a river cruiser. Discussed it on the drive home and decided it’s not ‘the one’. It needs a lot of updating inside and some work outside too and for the money we can buy a better one (we hope).

Now watching Crufts whie husband starts dinner

PandasAreUseless · 11/03/2023 17:17

We had a lie in, then Pain au Chocolate and coffee this morning.
Then we dropped our new campervan off for some repairs before going for a walk along the canal with our dog, and had a hot chocolate.
Then came home, wandered into town and went for a pub lunch and a mooch around.
We've come home from that, lit a fire and DH has made chilli for tonight.
I'm going to watch Luther now with some popcorn 🍿 and then we're watching the new Chris Rock stand-up together tonight.

It's been a day of pigging out, drinking, watching TV and bring lazy, which is unlike us, but I'm loving it!

Its2amimustbelonely · 11/03/2023 17:30

Me and DH swapped so he did wake up today and I got a lovely long lie in. Coffee & Ideal Home magazine in bed. Then DH took DS to gymnastics so I had a lovely long shower and a leisurely breakfast. Tagged team at 12pm then picked up a friend of DSs and went to soft play where I managed to sit in relative peace for two hours. Just dropped friend home and am about to make meatballs for tea. Will wash it down with a few glasses of red in front of Ant & Dec followed by half the Ferreo Rocher chocolate bar I've hidden in the pantry.

cptartapp · 11/03/2023 17:32

Put the first wash of the year on the line and did the food shop. Then as the sun was still shining got DS2 to mow the lawn whilst I weeded and raked leaves. It's a big garden and looks a whole lot better but DH is having a spinal op next week, DS is revising for A levels so keeping on top of it is going to be hard work.
Helped DS with his student finance application, made a Chinese stir fry, DS went to work and now sat watching the football. Weather has turned, very drizzly and grey.

ssd · 11/03/2023 17:33

I had a nice day out with a friend

RRRException · 11/03/2023 17:37

Driven 65 miles to see my elderly mother and empty her loft. Ate lunch with her at naice pub. Driven home 65 miles with a boot of crap to take to the dump tomorrow. Cups of tea then ferrying teenage DD to a party.

More tea, watch All Quiet on the Western Front with DH on sofa whilst he sniffles with his manflu and then collect DD at 11pm.

Not the best Saturday tbh

JenaWren · 11/03/2023 17:39

Out to dinner with friends for a birthday. It's been a horrible week (D&V bug and the breakdown of a friendship) and I'm bloody looking forward to a lovely evening with my favourite people.

Mimilamore · 11/03/2023 18:02

Out of bed at 09.10 and fed cats whilst listening to Saturday Live on Radio 4. Made an omelette with mushrooms and tomatoes and coffee. Husband appeared. Really felt like going somewhere but agreed it was a cold wind for somebody on a mobility scooter so let him off. Went to next Townes's Lidl to buy toppings for pizza, had a quick shmooze in charity shops. Got a useful gap jumper for a fiver, husband said it was too short but I like it. Made pizza and had a glass of wine, followed by some non dairy yogurt( from community pantry) Now floating in bath and intend to have another glass of wine and disagree about what to watch on Netflix. Husband prefers YouTube and shows me " cute" animal vids constantly , bears being a favourite!
I'll probably put a film on once he goes to bed, he is 76 so gets tired early... I have lots of time these days but remember how short weekends seemed when I worked... do I miss it? not one jot!!

Onesailwait · 11/03/2023 18:54

Having a lazy morning here. My 16yr old had a few friends sleep over last nigh. I made them cinnamon buns & crispy bacon for breakfast. They all just left with lots of 'Thank you for having me's'. I'm going to have another coffee and then I think we'll take the dog out for a walk along the beach. Fingers crossed we'll see a whale or 2

LlynTegid · 11/03/2023 19:07

Got back from visiting a relative who lives rurally. Who is on good form and it was lovely to catch up.

Not watching any programme at 10.20pm on BBC1 tonight.

theveg · 11/03/2023 19:09

I slept until 8 which is late for me, and had a lazy slow morning. Pancakes for breakfast and read my book and helped ds2 with some homework. Ds1 made us lunch and then we went into town for coffee and a look round local gallery. We came back and ds1 watched the rugby and I have done some more reading and we have all just had dinner. Now watching ant and dec which dc love.

I am having a period and feeling a bit tired and low so a slow quiet day has been nice.

Joystir59 · 11/03/2023 19:13

Watching Crufts with my JRT sitting next to me.

mamaduckbone · 11/03/2023 19:17

I went for a run this morning, had a wander into town then watched ds1 play rugby.
We lit the stove and suffered through the England France match and we've just finished takeout pizza.
A nice, fairly chilled day.

Mysorehead · 11/03/2023 19:18

Haven't made it out of bed yet, night-shift last night, normally fine with it as I'm a massive night owl, but today I am struggling, body feels like lead.
Need to go to tesco but car has been struggling to start with the cold weather and I can't face faffing about with jump starting it yet but my craving fir salt and vinegar crisps and a can of monster might motivate me soon!

Florin · 11/03/2023 19:42

Went to Twickenham to watch the rugby, disappointing score but it was great fun-3 generations of us.
