Patio door stickers (to stop the poor birds crashing in)🐦

About once every two months (that I know of), we have a dozy wood pigeon flying into our patio doors. I feel terrible about it because I know at best they’re stunned, if not worse.

I need to get some form of sticker to put on the patio door but at the same time I want it to be well, nice looking! Rather than just a random sticker on the doors.

Any ideas please?!

Rspb have some nice ones and quite reasonably priced too

We have the RSPB ones on our bay window and it's completely stopped the problem

Didn’t even know they did them! Brilliant, thank you.

I need to get some of these too as every few months I have a bird imprint on my back bedroom window. It must be so painful for them.

Rummikub · 09/03/2023 14:06

good question! Happens on my back bedroom window.

Would any random
sticker work ( a pattern of round stickers say) or does it need to be a bird?

floathazey · 09/03/2023 14:09

I don't think a random sticker works. We've had birds crashing into the window with lovely air ballon stickers before.

Rummikub · 09/03/2023 14:11

Ah that’s a shame. Your air ballon stickers sound lovely!

My mother used to have a sticker with a picture of a robin on it to stop this

SinnerBoy · 09/03/2023 14:32

My parents have one, it's the outline of a hawk and they haven't had a dead bird for years.

We've got hummingbirds DH found on Amazon, but getting the rspb ones seems ideal - not killing two birds with one stoneGrin

I presumed a bird of prey would be better to deter other birds.

You may have already got the RSPB window stickers, but if not I thought I would recommend the collection here: https://www.stickerscape.co.uk/product-category/window-stickers/spring-window-stickers/ x

Do they work to stop the birds flying into the windows ?

whitemeece · 28/03/2023 06:51

They have for us! We have 6m of bifolds at the back of our house and these seem to have done the trick 🙂You can see the window stickers from both sides of the glass, so I guess it just makes the birds notice there's something there, and it's not a big wide open space (having said that, I'd say my kids fingerprints mean that the glass rarely looks 'invisible' 😉)

Thanks for that. I’ll take a look. It’s my dv room and don’t think birds stickers would go down well.
