How much bread have you eaten today?

I had one slice of toast for breakfast, one focaccia roll for lunch and another slice of toast with my tea.

I am wondering if many people eat as much bread as that on an average day. I’m not sure it agrees with me these days!

I rarely eat bread but had a bacon and egg mayo sandwich from aldi for lunch! It was lovely!

I'd still be hungry after an omelette or a smoothie.

Try it - I think you’d be really surprised. The important thing is the eggs/nuts. Protein fills you up for a lot longer than carbs and keeps your blood sugar steady.

A 2-egg omelette with cheese or a smoothie made with peanut butter and topped with nuts and seeds keeps me full for around 3 1/2 hours. And I have a big appetite!

Zero. It’s no one’s friend.

Nonsense.

(Yesterday) I toasted three slices of ciabatta, had Gorgonzola on one and avocado on the others with a bowl of vegetable soup.
And really enjoyed them.

I buy a small brown sandwich loaf and a large ciabatta a week for three people.
The ciabatta goes into the freezer in portions on the day I buy it so we don’t go crazy and it’s always fresh.
I’ve been known to eat a double baguette (gros pain) with butter and Marmite in one sitting…

I had two slices of Lidl seeded bloomer, one with a lentil curry and one with a veggie burger. I somehow bought two loafs of bread and three packets of wraps last week and now the freezer is full of bloody bread.

None, I don't eat bread.

Bread, no. Makes me feel ill. I buy gluten free stuff and occasionally a spelt loaf which is easier for me to tolerate than standard bread.

I usually home bake a loaf made from dust and wholemeal flour then break it into crumbs which I individually freeze. When I’m feeling a bit meh, I break out a couple of crumbs as a treat. But no more than once a quarter!

None so far today. I had around half of a 400g crusty loaf yesterday. Some of those in the know say we should eat what our grandmothers would have eaten, and my grannies both lived on bread and cakes.

Rebel2 · 04/03/2023 11:09

Usually 2 pieces a day or a fake Aldi subway roll for lunch
Don't eat breakfast and try to avoid having it again for tea

God, where I live (not UK) the bread is to die for...I eat it daily. Potatoes feature heavily in the diet here also, delicious. I eat both daily, not overweight, just enjoying my food! Moderation is key. Bread is delicious! Life is too short, enjoy yourself!

Half a seeded roll per week, good lord, live a little.

Oooh you naughty thing! 😂

I eat loads of bread. Usually have a sandwich or toast or bread with soup for lunch. Sometimes also toast for breakfast. I only eat sourdough or homemade bread though, sliced loaves with loads of preservatives in don't agree with me.
