Is anyone able to recommend an app where I might be able to edit my crochet veg into a supermarket?

I've made Supertato props for display at work & was going to try and stage them like in the book we'll be reading in school but forgot about it & now don't think I can be arsed before tomorrow morning 🙈

Can anyone suggest an app where I could try and put them in a supermarket?

Tia! 🙂

You crocheted some veg?
And now you want there to be an app to... put them in a supermarket?
What the what now?

AlisonDonut · 20/02/2023 21:51

Huh?

lucysmam · 20/02/2023 21:52

Never mind, clearly my op was incredibly difficult to understand.

It really wasn’t that hard to understand. Try the Canva app OP

NoCatsToday · 20/02/2023 21:52

Photoshop?

PuttingDownRoots · 20/02/2023 21:53

Do you mean you want to take a photograph or video of your crocheted veg, perhaps in front of a green screen, then superimpose thos on a supermarket background?

TaRaDeBumDeAy · 20/02/2023 21:54

My primitive self would use tinywow.

You can take a pic of the veg then upload to remove the background then download and save.

Find and save a stock pic of a supermarket then upload to tinywow and then insert your pic of the veg.

There's probably a much better way of doing it though.

QuillBill · 20/02/2023 21:55

I understand you completely.

You have crochet some supertato characters.

You were going to take them to the supermarket and take their photos on piles of vegetables, on the conveyor belt and (if you dared) with the bags of frozen peas.

But you didn't.

So you want to take some photos of your crochet veg at home and photoshop them into supermarket scenes.

CrapBucket · 20/02/2023 21:56

As you've made the crochet figures, maybe just print an A4 picture of a supermarket, then put the actual figures in front of it - would that work?

seasaltsprayismyjam · 20/02/2023 21:57

Google 'free mock up photos'. There are websites that will have images you can use to place your object on through their site. They'll obviously have paid versions but they usually offer quite a few free ones too.

lucysmam · 20/02/2023 21:57

@PuttingDownRoots yes, I have a photo I've removed the background from & want to put them in a supermarket instead of sitting on my chair.

I have no idea where to even start with Photoshop but do have Canva already on my phone so will try that, thank you.

If you have iPhone and the latest update you can take a picture of your veg, then open the picture in your camera roll, hold down on the veg and you can pop them out of the background, copy them and use an app with basic editing (Instagram?) to paste them over another picture.

I accidentally discovered this last week 😂

QueSyrahSyrah · 20/02/2023 21:58

Aah cross post, you're ahead of me on removing the background!

OnSecondThoughts · 20/02/2023 21:58

Thinks: I don't understand this headline, but I'll read through the comments and that will make it clearer.
Thinks again.

lucysmam · 20/02/2023 22:00

@CrapBucket I wish I'd thought to ask sooner now! I'd have to get the printer out & plugged in to do it now though. Maybe first thing in the morning if I have any motivation

Upload an image of the veg to DALL.e

seasaltsprayismyjam · 20/02/2023 22:02

You might be able to use Canva's mock-up generator. Never used it before, but I do this stuff all the time for Etsy listings.

pigsinoodies · 20/02/2023 22:05

If this makes sense to anyone else I must be drunk.

BertieBotts · 20/02/2023 22:07
Grin

OK I get you now.

Also thought you wanted an app to physically put your crocheted veg in a supermarket, and wondered how anybody thought an app could do that!

Why didn't you say "Into a photo of a supermarket" Grin

Impatientwino · 20/02/2023 22:09

I'm just here for the photos of the crocheted veg Grin (please)

I'm going to ask my friend who is better at these things to help me tomorrow, I can't work it out 🤷‍♀️

These are ace.

PuppyPerson · 20/02/2023 22:26

Those veg are lovely OP, and I understand your puzzle now! Could you go old school?

  1. Take a photo of the lovely veg
  2. Print that, cut around the edges with scissors.
  3. Find a photo online of a supermarket (unsplash is good for rights free images)
  4. Print that.
  5. Glue printed veg onto printed supermarket.
  6. Ta da! "This is how newspapers and books were made in the old days" A history lesson at the same time? 😁
Impatientwino · 20/02/2023 22:27

Ah amazing, love them! Thank you for sharing!

Sorry you've been unable to do what you wanted though!
