Give me your top 3 things to do alone?

I have decided I'm an introvert. I like people and can be quite sociable but I find doing things alone calming and peaceful.

On the spur of the moment I bought a last minute theatre ticket and went alone. Had a bimble around town, took a book and had a drink in a bar then saw the show. I had a really lovely time.

So now I'm thinking about what else I can do. I often walk alone and go to the cinema, but what "treats" do you like to do alone?

I love alone time!
My favourites are:
Cinema
Swimming
Cafes for coffee & lunch
Training days & conferences on my own where I can choose whether to be chatty or not (work related)
Train journeys
Taking a secret leave day from work and going out for the day. Then on my return i tell my DH & DD where ive been!
Staying overnight in hotels

I would love a short 5 day break at the coast on my own but haven't got round to that yet.

I was going to mention the overnight hotel break. I am in the position to do this once a month. It's not far away and I know the area well. It's all about the hotel stay, not exploring. A deep bath or long, hot shower. Sitting on the king sized bed with snacks and watching junk TV. Hotel picnic. Reading (or a hobby like crossstitch or writing or jigsaws) without interruptions. I especially love it if it's raining so I don't feel obliged to go outside. I do though go out for a bit of fresh air because it makes me appreciate my hotel time even more.

Also, things others have mentioned. I said I wanted to see an exhibition and someone said "I'll come with you." I wanted to go alone!

I have a friend who when we go to exhibitions pretty much glues herself to me as we wander around. Hence I always have a second visit - alone.

So many things!

Top 3:

  1. Go to my favourite café for brunch and then for a wander around town and a browse in various shops/charity shops. Usually I'll listen to a podcast or audiobook.
  1. Go to the cinema.
  1. Stay at home and just potter about.

All 3 combined would be my perfect day. Well, maybe throw in a massage too!

Other things that are nice to do alone: swimming, library, museums, theatre, hillwalking, spa trip, overnight stay or long weekend in a nice B&B or glamping, city break somewhere.

I've done all of these at various times by myself. I like doing things alone.

Going to the cinema.
Cruising
Going away in my camper van.

I go camping on my own. Sitting under the stars by my fire, glass of wine, total peace: bliss.

I do also love going with friends but alone is so restorative.

Cinema, but you already do that.

Galleries: much prefer to go alone. My own speed, no chat while looking.

Shopping. Can’t stand shopping with other people. Own speed, not being embarrassed when you try on something that makes you look like a post-smash cake smash cake, not having to be tactful when your friend falls for similar, or bored while they browse Reiss and you are more Toast.

Ooh! I'd love to go on a cruise by myself. Will have to add that to the list.
