My son has lost one EarPod (basically new, sigh). If I find one to buy (new) on eBay, would it work :/

he’s autistic and he was so chuffed … but it’s definitely lost now… so I’m trying to think of cheapest way to fix the situ.

Do you mean Apple Airpods? I saw something about this on a reddit a while back and I think the conclusion was that yes you could, as long as they were the same model/generation etc. I don't know how easy it is to find single ones available, but I guess people lose them often enough that maybe it is easy! Probably not new ones though

Also, if it's Apple, have you tried the 'find my....' app? That might show you where it was lost, and you can get it to play a sound, if it's still charged enough

I’ve done this. I lost one and bought one on eBay. You need to put both in the box and re- link it to the phone

Buy a pair and sell the other one. There's obviously a market for single earbuds.
Or keep it for when he inevitably looses one again too (and 🤞🏼that he looses "the other one")

We have had to do this a few times thanks to a naughty puppy who likes to hunt them out, chew them and spit them out 🙄 As long as the AirPods match in generation it works fine. Cheaper than going through apple who charge £70 I think for one replacement.
