Can I ask what you do for a living?

Honestly I'd feel rich if I had a salary like this! I'm
Here shamelessly looking for inspiration 😁

I own a golf course.

I'm so glad I started this thread.

I think it's important for those of us who work hard and know we can be brilliant at any job, but just need a little direction and assistance on how to get there, to realise there are options

I'm feeling a lot brighter about my future for sure

@whatwhatsnewpussycat34 I work in financial services as WFH admin. I'm currently on £30k.
I know that if I was to go into a more technical admin role I could easily earn way more than this, it's just not what I want to do at the moment.
Try some of the bigger firms within financial advice, they usually pay quite well. I've learnt from experience that the smaller companies just can't afford pay more where as the bigger ones can.

Not me but family member earns £65k as a train driver.

I have no degree but only earn £21k rising to £24k in April. This thread gives me hope. I would like to earn £40k one day, that would give me a nice lifestyle.

Those of you who work in financial services.. if I was to lol at entry level jobs, with a view to working my way up, what job titles should I be searching for on employment sites?

Thanks

Whyishewearingasombero · 17/02/2023 18:49

I work in charity fundraising. I do have a degree but its completed unrelated and decades old. And not related to my job offer!

I belong to a Facebook fundraisers group and the job pages will only post ads that dont insist on a degree unless there is a very specific requirement as they feel many talented people are unnecessarily excluded.

DH has no A levels or degrees he’s a Product Manager on £55k

Because the OP asked

If you earn between £35k -£40k and are not degree educated....

Can I ask what you do for a living?

And that is what we are answering.

Try reading the whole post. She is asking for inspiration for careers that she could potentially pursue without a degree. Nursing isn’t one.

@IIreallyLikeCrisps try 'trainee paraplanner' 'financial adviser administrator' or have a look at Burgh Recruitment or MB Fitzgerald who are both recruitment agencies who specialise in financial services jobs.

TheAudie · 13/04/2023 19:20

Business analyst. £75k. Started in admin in a finance services company at 18 and worked my way up. Have done a number of qualifications while working. If I didn’t have quite severe MH issues I probably would have done a lot better

ArianahX · 13/04/2023 19:28

My sister is in management in her industry on £45k plus, with no degree or a levels, just a few GCSEs & lots of experience & contacts made over the years.

ToBeOrNotToBee · 13/04/2023 19:29

Investigator for civil service.

I'm actually way underpayed for my experience and the qualifications I do have.

ArianahX · 13/04/2023 19:32

My friends husband has no qualifications, left school and worked in checkouts at 16. Worked his way up & is now a department manager at Morrison's one step down from Store Manager. I don't know his exact wage but it's good.
However it's very hard work & unsocial hours!

Greenfree · 13/04/2023 19:33

I earn above that, no gsce's or degree but do have some financial qualifications that a former employer paid for. I'm now an Operations Manager

Laney79 · 13/04/2023 19:43

Radio producer.

MrsCharlieD · 13/04/2023 19:51

Head of recruitment, worked my way up from minimum wage. I did go to uni but didn't finish my degree. I've worked my arse off, gone above and beyond but it has been so worth it and I'm very proud of what I've achieved. I have a company car too that adds an extra 10k to my package plus bonus. I've done a lot of training on the job and have self taught a lot too but it's very rewarding and I have a great team. Really love my role.

skippy67 · 13/04/2023 20:27

Civil servant.

FettleOfKish · 13/04/2023 20:38

£40k bang on. Marketing, which is an area I accidentally fell into rather than aiming for, but in an industry I've always worked in and adore.

I do various bits of training and qualifications and enjoy learning more.

Randomcrazy · 24/05/2023 18:49

I'm a chef and more than clear that

PlatBilledDuckypuss · 24/05/2023 19:01
