Narcissist boss

Unfortunately I appear to be working for one - so many red flags - ticks all the boxes.

She is the sole Manager - I need to keep my sanity until I find another job.

Any tips gratefully received 💐

Whilst you job search you bite your tongue, let any of the batshit comments and their weird reasoning wash over you. The odd compliment is important (they need adulation because inside there is a lost little girl or boy who is deeply insecure). Read up on narcissist behaviours. I have relatives who display those behaviours and it's low contact. For now you don't have that luxury. Just remember it's always your fault and they are the centre of the universe ;)
Good luck x

Have you tried grey rock technique? It's the only thing i think works for narcissists.

But ultimately the only thing you can do is leave. Pp are right. Remind yourself daily it's not you. There's nothing you could do to make it better. Focus on the future and getting out. Good luck!

(Not sure why some posters think you need a degree in psychiatry to post here...!)

@dontputitthere

Thank you 💚 I'll Google that. Yep I really have no idea why some pp are so riled up by this thread tbh 🙄

I walked out. I think the only difference between staying until I found another job and leaving was that I was going to be messed up monumentally further.

A friend of mine stayed and was never able to work again, she started having panic attacks just before interviews 😕

Everyone someone doesn't like is a "narcissist" nowadays.

Someone can be a cunt without having a diagnosable personality disorder.

@MonkeyMindAllOverAround

Oh no that's dreadful 💔

@Germolenequeen

Been there.

Was many years but it ramped up over the last few and her business partner is even worse.

She never used to be like it so much but I think the business partner rubbed off.

It was toxic and negative on a daily basis and I struggled to go to work for years.

Things changed massively and I'm out of it but every now and then I get a glimpse of it again and it makes me shudder and I realise how much shit and toxic behaviour i actually put up with

@wtfisgoingonhere21

I'm sorry that happened to you 💚
