Celebrities like Stacey Solomon and their Instagram perfect lives

I heard the news today that Stacey Solomon and Joe swash have welcomed baby number 3 together so thought I'd Google to check out a picture of the cute new arrival. Google led me to her insta. How the hell do these celebs have such picture perfect lives? Every photo is perfect, Babies & toddlers all look immaculate in matching clothing with big beaming smiles no snot, tears, tantrums, refusing to look at the camera. perfect backdrops be it in the home or out & about. It's just too much perfection. It's actually quite depressing and makes us normal families lives look shit or is that just mine 🤔🤣. just how do they get these perfect family moments, pics and vids without the kids playing up and getting bored and just point blank refusing. Do they have professional photographers in their daily lives doing it all for them?

When my DGS was a year old we took him to get professional photos done. He's was a moody little sod throughout the shoot, didn't wanna engage at all. There was 4 of us making complete dicks of ourselves trying to get a smile out of him....nothing....he was like this 😐 all the way through.

When we went to view the pics they were perfect; he looked so happy and content. Amazingly they'd manage to catch every little micro-smile, which gave the impression that he'd really enjoyed it.

So, I would say that contrary to popular belief, sometimes the camera tells massive fucking lies and the most important element for that perfect insta-look is a professional photographer Grin

Women can't win.
If her kids are clean and her life looks perfect, posters are complaining that it isn't real.
If her kids have dirty feet or nap on the floor, posters are complaining 'everything is lies' and implying she's a shit mum.
And if you don't act like a woman using social media as part of her career is worst than the devil, then apparently you're 'being taken in'.
Misogyny runs deep.

Icecreamandapplepie · 14/02/2023 01:36

I mean, hes far from my cup of tea, but why the derogatory comments about Joe swash?

sjpkgp1 · 14/02/2023 01:59

How do they do it? Because that is their main job, so they do have those things (photographer, video editing, no doubt cleaner nanny etc, sponsorship for the clothing etc.). The rest of us are either saying a) " this is how we are, love us or lump us" around school runs, work and so on, or for the more organised, rich or insta friendly b) "this is how we are (but we have some help doing it) or c) not engaging in any of it at all, probably because we have "main jobs" or other hard responsibilities that are not "being a celebrity". People do like peering into other people's lives, and Stacey Chanelle Clare Solomon-Swash is satisfying that requirement. She can at least sing (x factor 2009) and won I'm a celebrity in 2010 on the public vote., there are worse out there. I don't follow her, and I would not want to live my own life (and that of my children) in the public eye, but that is what she has chosen, and by many of the posters accounts above, it is not perfect either. I realise (OP) that I've gone off topic a bit, and actually, I'm with you ! Even in our very best family photos, someone is always pulling a funny face or its not the greatest of settings. Glad we don't have to do it in the public eye though.

WandaWonder · 14/02/2023 02:02

They do it for a living and it is staged

It is not real but even if it was everyone has different lives it doesn't have have to reflect on anyone else unless they choose it too

Shouldbesleeping8 · 14/02/2023 02:21

It's her job to portray that life. What I find really jarring are the cleaning influences when they show themselves cleaning all the time. I know they just want to show tips and hacks to help people while making a bit of money from cleaning brands but the unexpected consequence is women (and it's mostly women) viewing their accounts feel inadequate that they can't complete with someone who stays at home all day cleaning. It's worth taking a step back and remembering how boring it must be to be that obsessively curated with your home and not have a job, career, colleagues outside of your home. Fuck that for a way of passing your time and making money.
(I know thats not the case with SS but is with other influencers).

MandaLynn · 14/02/2023 02:57

Surely that's an issue with social media in general, not specific to celebrities?

Who's posting pictures of the days the kids are throwing tantrums, you haven't showered, house is a mess? Granted they aren't professional photos (that's where yes, they have money/publicists because it's their job) my Instagram is also only the "nice, picture perfect" days

MarshaMelrose · 14/02/2023 03:12

I find her very false and irritating. I started watching some home style programme she was doing but had to switch off.
But I don't understand what these people make their money from. Who on earth pays them so much money that they can afford these big houses and have swimming pools put in?

MarshaMelrose · 14/02/2023 03:14

Having said that, though, she's paying her own way so good luck to her. She's not costing me anything.

theblackradiator · 13/02/2023 23:36

what is the new baby's name then just out of interest?

Belle Swash. Looks like the insta celebs have discovered Disney movies but didn’t think it through with their surnames.

poor Bambi Fury and Belle Swash will be commiserating with each other in years to come

Maybe she could stop exploiting her children for money online and she might win then? @WinnieFosterReads I noticed Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively welcomed another baby. Any ideas if their children are clean or dirty? Oh that’s right they have actual jobs and don’t need to exploit their children to up their advertising revenue potential.

Welfast · 14/02/2023 05:15

I'm a big miserable old cynic but I find Stacey cheerful and pleasant.

Netaporter · 14/02/2023 05:33

@Vintagecreamandcottagepie i think it’s because round here he’d be known as ‘a bit of a lunch’ I.e not very bright. Not that we know him, just how he comes across. He’s also been made bankrupt twice within 4 years which probably isn’t in most people’s definition of a catch.

My guilty pleasure is what DH calls ‘your depressing tidying up’ shows. I quite enjoy Stacey Solomon’s one. The latest series showed her working very hard the week of her wedding and I did think fair play to her, most of us assume she’d be at the beautician’s the whole week before her insta wedding not round some random’s in the Home Counties in sweltering heat persuading them to part with eleventy billion pairs of broken trainers and organising their chilli con carne packet mixes in date order 😂

Sweetener12 · 14/02/2023 05:47

I don't think they have professional photographers following them around all day, but showing their lives is their job, so they definitely know what poses and angles are better, they probably have spots in their place here the lightning and background are the best etc. Don't forget about photo editing, look at the before/after examples of photos that programs like Photoworks may create. Its all color correction and cropping and removing unwanted things from the background, and voilà, you live the perfect life!

I bet they have their share of struggles, but here is the thing with bloggers and people in general: happy moments are posted way more often than sad or depressing ones, so of course others' lives would look amazing on their social media. It's not like it's a completely staged life, you just see the best angles of it. Also yes, money is another answer. It's easier to maintain the perfect picture when you have means to do so.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 14/02/2023 05:47

It's her job to portray her lifestyle and her family online. Although a world a way from actual hard work it must be pretty hard to keep up that perfect life facade especially when you've just had a baby and you're knackered. I also wonder about the ethics of using your kids as insta fodder and to promote your brand.

flutterbyebaby · 14/02/2023 05:53

I watch a lovely woman on instagram, she tends to show her life warts and all, including the really messy house, chipped nail varnish etc unfortunately the pulling she gets of the perfect brigade is awful.

Orangetapemeasure · 14/02/2023 05:53

We live on the same road as an influencer. We aren’t friends. After the birth of her first child a mutual friend said to me ‘it’s so hard for mrs influencer. She’s the same as the rest of us- sore down below, sore boobs, knackered, but she has to go out and take perfect photos having a picnic with a 2 day old baby on the village green’.
I just wanted to scream ‘no she doesn’t. That’s entirely her choice’.
we are on holiday right now. I shared a few sunny pictures yesterday. The weather was awful the day before….so I didn’t share those pictures!
you don’t have to believe everything you see on SM OP.

Me too, she comes across as a nice girl and I like her opinions on Loose Women.

GoodChat · 14/02/2023 06:15

People will be nasty about absolutely everything.

Her life's too perfect, it's all a facade, her kids are dirty and unruly and fake happy (which one is it)?

Kids get messy when they're having fun. My youngest often has dirty feet because she'll go outside as soon as she sees an open door because she loves it. It's fine. It makes her happy. She'll have a bath before bed.

Now people are slating the name. Belle is a perfectly normal girls name.

If you're really this bitter about someone whose life seems happier than yours, maybe reflect on yourselves rather than trying to drag everyone down to your miserable level.

gettingalifttothestation · 14/02/2023 06:19

That's exactly what it is. Pictures

Reinventinganna · 14/02/2023 06:19

no snot, tears, tantrums, refusing to look at the camera

Do you post photos of yours looking like that? No one that I know in RL does. They post happy, content and engaging photos. It’s not a celebrity thing.

puppacup · 14/02/2023 06:21

It's just advertising so it's not going to be a real reflection.

Beezknees · 14/02/2023 06:23

She's got 5 or 6 children now hasn't she? That's my idea of hell. No envy from me at all.

Explodingatomickittens · 14/02/2023 06:30

If you want perfect check out upper class insta profile of Yoanna Hanbury wife of polo player Charlie Hanbury... Gorgeous hubby, huge country estate in home counties, three beautiful clean children.. I love her page for the escapism!

ThePoshUns · 14/02/2023 06:32

It's their job. They get paid to do it.
Plus Stacey does come across as very organised- and very nice in fairness to her.
